Taking Care of the Temple - Losing Our Next Generation of Girls
Reply Quote

I am all for taking care of our temple, but I need to let you know about what God has allowed into our lives in the past few months.  We took in a teenage girl who has been battling bulimia and anorexia for the last 6 years - starting in 6th grade earnestly, but really beginning the downward journey in 4th grade as other kids teased her about being fat.

She is a Christian.  Her family serves in Christian ministry.  This is one of the most vile and deceitful attacks of the evil one.  He has these little girls convinced they are of no use to anyone because of the way they look.  She has turned to cutting on occaision, suicide attempts, and all because she "thinks" she's fat.  Currently, we have her at a good weight.  She's 5'5" and weighs a whopping 115 pounds, but this torments her.  She believes "everyone" worth anything needs to be skinny, but doesn't see herself as skinny.  She believes that 95 lbs. would be an acceptable weight.  She believes that seeing her bones through her skin is beautiful.

It is a constant battle that needs to be fought not only in mind and body, but more importantly, in Spirit.  She WILL have the victory, and we see her taking mighty steps of faith as she learns to wield her spiritual weapons.

I just want to caution that this is becoming an epidemic among our LITTLE girls.  Ask a group of five year olds who they would rather play with, a fat girl or a thin girl.  They will overwhelmingly choose the thin girl.  Ask them if they had to be something, would they rather be dumb or fat.  They will choose dumb.  These are not thoughts they are necessarily getting from home!

Take a moment and watch TV attentively.  How many weight loss commercials?  Which body types are the heroines?  Which body types are most actors?  Even the Christian community has jumped on this band wagon.  Paula White now has a diet and exercise DVD/Plan available.  Please hear me well:  I am not against health.  But there is a more prevailing undertone to make it about IMAGE, and our little girls do not have the maturity of the "objective perspective" to discern the difference.  Man looks on the outside, but God looks on the heart.

We teach our children that drugs are bad - but somehow we also teach them that some drugs bring life.  Health is good.  Image should not be what our little girls are walking away with - especially from church.

Hi, I would like to respond to your post on weight loss. It will  try to be brief. I agree with you, that  "the end justifying the means" is dangerous when we would rather sacrafice our health and well being just to lose weight. However, I would like to offer you another perspective concerning "Image" and losing weight.

It is written, that "We are made in the image of God." and also in Christ "we live and move and have our being." With this in mind, the enemy, as one of his weapons, is using  the the mental torment of weight lose, and weight gain to stop an individual soul from manifesting the promises of God...that is appropriating the finish work of the cross...and restoring that soul back to "God's Image" as written in the book of Genisis. The enemy fears this most of all. Therefore, he will use any means necessary...such as "self hate" to destroy a soul and thus destroying God's Image and the manifestaion of "Worship" --a soul's reconnection and representation of the Creator upon the earth.

This young lady is assaulted by the enemy.. and he is using spirits of sucide..but most of all the spirit of self hate. Therefore, have this young woman read scriptures such as John 3:16 (or any or all scriptures that talks about the love of God for us) "God so loved the world he Gave....." However, instead insert her name in place of world  and say out loud "God so loved me.......! and because God loves me, I love myself, in Jesus Mighty name!" Then, renounce the spirit of self hate and command it to go to the feet of Jesus."

"Self hate" is the root and cause of many being tormented by their weight or their desperate need to be beautiful even at the risk of their own lives. Therefore, we take information concerning weight lose to the extreme and often times take it out of context, as well as, misappropriate the information.

Go into prayer, concerning what I have written you, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth..!!!

Sincerely

BW

This deception is SO deep and SO hard to root out! It is a poison, a toxic poison, that takes over their logic and replaces reality with a deeply ingrained lie. I think it is like a form of witchcraft. Voodoo and witchcraft both have 'wasting' curses that cause food not to nourish and the person to die. I thank God that this dear one is in your loving and capable hands. I pray that churches everywhere will prepare to deal with this epidemic in our children. It is attacking boys, too. God help us be armed and wise...

There is such a thing as teaching a child proper eating habits in the beginning when they are young like a year old on up.. I SEE my own grandchildren that are allowed to eat just about anything in the house even before supper They seem to eat and drink all day long I CALL IT PIECE MEALING of course all this because they have no CONCEPT of sitting down with the PARENTS all together for SUPPER. WHY??? because everybody does anything and everything they CHOOSE TO DO INCLUDING EATING ANYTHING AT ANYTIME NIGHT OR DAY. NOT DISCIPLINE AS BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER NOT IN THIS DAY AND AGE> parents are to busy with all their own agenda's. YOU KNOW what happenes when I as a grandmother says anything against this lifestyle. THEY ARE OUR CHILDREN AND WE WILL RAISE THEM the way WE WANT TO. OK BUT IN The end who PAYS THE PRICE FOR NO DICIPLINE IN RESTRAINT OF ANY KIND. even EATING HABITS. OUR GRANDCHILDREN THAT ARE TOLD TO NOT INTERFER.

I WAS RAISED TO EAT ANYTHING SET BEFORE ME. AND TO EAT WHEN IT WAS READTY meaning MOM COOKED MEALS THREE TIMES A DAY. IF IT WAS WARRENTED BECAUSE ALL WERE HOME. THERE WAS NO EATING ANYTHING while SUPPER was being PREPARED RUIN YOUR SUPPER RIGHT?????

YET there is also the POINT S FOR THE OVER WEIGHT CHILD that is DOING ALL THAT is to be done . and is still heavy. HONEY ACCEPT WHAT GOD HAS MADE YOU TO BE. THERE IS SUCH A THING AS INHERITED TRAITS OF THE PHYSICAL BODY BECAUSE OF THE EARTHLY VESSELS OF PARENTS. MAY I ADD THESE too WERE GODS CHOICE...... OR I ACTUALLY DO NOT BELIEVE I WOULD BE HERE neither would my two or my GRANDCHILDREN. FOR who IS OUR CREATOR??? THAT WE KNOW AND CALL CHRIST? LORD, JESUS, JEHOVAH, JESHUA, OUR AWSOME GOD.

Whao I knew it was bad, but wasn't aware that it was that bad!

By the way "cutting one's self" is a classic symptom of survivors of child sexual abuse, paticularily incest. Furthermore victims will rarely talk about it, counsiling/therapy is recomended for those survivors who are ready i.e. strong enough to deal with it. Beware of many weird counselers/therapists who use religions such as budast, and others to promote their interpretation of healing. To find a Christian theapist/cpouseler can be challenging but well worth the wait.

I hope she is doing better, and gets better every day. As the torcher from the evil one, can take years to recover from, on an emotional level.....
