Christians and "The Secret"
Reply Quote
Is it ok for Christians to apply practices and teachings from the book and film called "the Secret"? It's pretty popular in the secular world. It's appeared on Oprah and serveral other main stream shows on tv. I personally have a bad feeling about it. I didn't read the book but someone at my job (a non believer) offered for me to read it quite a few times. She even gave me her notes on it just today to keep. I looked over them just so that I would offend her and then returned them. Some of the notes reminded me of some "refurbished" scriptures from the bible, I still had and still have a bad feeling about it. In fact, i personally feel that it's sly way to exclude GOD from ones life. What are some of your thoughts?

Thanks and GOD bless.

God has given you the Holy Spirit that will guide you into all truth. The Holy Spirit has already given you the warning with your bad feeling. Never second guess. And if you are not really sure go to a true man of God. Paul stated that follow me as I follow christ. And encouraged the people to work out their salvating with fear and trembling. First Oprah is not saved by Jesus Christ Our Lord and neither is she confessing. And any man of God that is suggesting you to follow her don't listen and obey. Obey God greater than man. In the last days even the elect will be deceived. The scriptures are Holy so study and let it be your foundation. Even Paul was an powerful man of God that walked in much power but he told people to follow him as he followed christ. So he knew that he could miss the mark anytime. Now days man is arrogant and believe they are hitting the mark each time. In these last days you have people who are exalted themselves above God in His temple/church. These men are also persuading men to follow their teachings/revelations. You don't see man leading lives as Paul and the other apostles. If it dont add up in the word refuse it. Keep yourself pure and don't let men corrupt your spirit. Ask God for understanding and wisdom. Peace and love my sisiter

I have watched the DVD called "The Secret" and to me it is a Anti-Christ message it talks about the law of attraction bringing you closer to your dreams saying that the more focus on a thing the law of attraction brings it to you. To me that say the more you lust something and divert your focus from God to that thing the world will deliver which is a lie the devil wants you to believe. He(satan) wants you to focus on the "FLESH" things of this world, so you can’t focus on your responsibilities as a Christian which is to live Holly and Righteous, seeking Gods Face, Loving one another so that things can be added unto us like the BIBLE teaches. We sometimes get desperate in trying to please our flesh that we lose focus on God , the bible says that we prosper as our souls prosper, and I have found that the more I mature as a Christian the lest I find myself attached to things of this world, which are sure to melt in the fire.

God Bless, Mally Mall
