COVENANT OR NETWORKING
Reply Quote
True networking is an informal sharing of information and services among individuals or groups linked by a common interest, TO ENGAGE IN NETWORKING, so as to ADVANCE ESPECIALLY ONE'S CAREER.

Let there be COVENANTS drawn between us. In entering into a convenant, Jehovah was solemnly called on to witness the transaction (Gen. 31:50), and hence it was called a "covenant of the Lord" (1 Sam. 20:8).

It has often been said that a person is only as good as his word. The sad truth is that while we may strive to be trustworthy people of our word in all our dealings with others, we are all guilty of breaking promises to God Himself. It is easy to pledge fidelity to the Lord; living it out is another thing.

How many have made vows on this network? To make a vow before the Lord (or anyone else for that matter) is a serious thing. Vows are voluntary promises which, when once made, were to be kept if the thing vowed was right. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay. (Eccl. 5:5)

How can we hold people (including ourselves) to their commitments in our day? "If thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee; that which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform," (De 23:21,23 Ec 5:4-5) The fulfilling of a vow was considered as a sacred and binding duty (De 23:21-23; Jud 11:35; Ec 5:4) A vow was as binding as an oath (An oath is a solemn appeal to God, as to an all-seeing witness that what we say is true, and an almighty avenger if what we say be false, [Heb 6:16] A customary formula of taking an oath was "The Lord do so to me, and more also;" that is, the lord slay me, as the victim sacrificed on many such occasions was slain, and punish me even more than this, if I speak not the truth, [Ru 1:17 1Sa 3:17]) and therefore to be kept to the letter; and it was not to be lightly made (Pr 20:25).

May the Lord help us keep the promises we have made to Him and to others. Let us emulate the One we follow by being faithful workmen who need never be ashamed (2nd Timothy 2:15).
