Fasting the Ten Commandments
Reply Quote

I have found an excellent way to achieve pounds lost and draw nearer to God at the same time. I had always wanted to do a "biblical fast" but I knew I might face failure if I did not baby-step my way there. So I decided to (fast) for thirty days to see if I could strengthen my will power. In this fast I would cut out things that most of us are casually addicted to for thirtydays.

In addition I reasoned that I should use hat same thirty days to learn the, (Ten Commandments). As far as the addictions I would cut out all sweet drinks, coffee for thirty days. This was not as easy as it sounds especially when each morning you have a craving for coffee. As for the (Ten Commandments) I decided I would split them up and learn one repititiously every third day. I figured by just learning one every third day that I could not only recite them without the bible but I could stack them on top of each other at the end of the thirty days.

The results:

After the third day I started to get coffee withdrawals. With simple aspirin you can overcome the slight headaches. In time they will fade and you will not have as many cravings. I began to drink more water over soda and kool-aide and I noticed the difference in my bathroom visits. I was amazed to find out learning the Ten Commandments this way became second nature to me. In fact not only did I study one for every third day but I studied living that Commandment over those days. You can do a lot of introspection by fasting this way. Also you will begin to notice the pounds melt away from the sugary drinks as your mind begins to become crystal and biblically clear.

Good luck
