10-27-2008, 12:51 PM pdreed28 Joined on 10-27-2008 Posts 5 Just some thoughts Holiness is essential...I don't think there is a christian anywhere on the planet that would disagree but where we do disagree is on how to obtain that holiness. Is it works or grace? Grace I believe will produce fruit which will produce good works. Jesus became sin on the cross apart from his performance so that you and I may become righteous apart from ours. Grace will always produce life and good works. To many in church today preach behavior modification through the ministry of guilt and condemnation and wonder why their people struggle to change or fall back into sin again and again. It is because you can not earn it. The Law will only produce death and destruction but thank God Jesus fulfilled the Law. If you have fulfilled your payments to the bank I advise you to stop making payments. Jesus paid for it, stop trying too. You can't earn holiness. It is a gift from God apart from your performance.    Report
