Aleechea Pitts Joined on 08-24-2006 Vineland, New Jersey, United States Posts 34 THE CHURCH BEGINNING TO LOOK MORE LIKE THE WORLD By Evangelist Aleechea Pitts The church is beginning to look more like the world, instead of the the other way around. It is time for us as Christians to stand against the compromise that is creeping into the church and this seems inevitable when the Christian church begins to embrace the worldly system. The Lord does have a number of corrections for the church. The Lord urges those who are guilty to repent. "Wherefore, come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you and will be a Father unto you and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty!" (2nd Corinthians 6:17-18) There are those who mistake Christian freedom as a license to compromise on doctrinal issues as to make Christianity more acceptable or agreeable to the world. Acceptability to the world has never been the characteristics of true Christianity and we should never succumb to the temptation to dilute our message in order to make it so. We do not do good works to become saved or even to remain saved, but we do so because we ARE saved. Romans Chapter 8 indicates that if we do NOT have the Holy Spirit, then we are NOT really saved. The Holy Spirit works in us to convict us "of sin, of righteousness and of judgment" (John 16:8). In other words, we will have a new sense of right and wrong and a new desire to do that which is pleasing to God, that we did not have prior to salvation. One who continully and habitually practice sin without remorse gives evidence that he was never truly saved to begin with and has been untouched by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit. The good news is that salvation is available to anyone who is convicted of their sin and desires to repent and come to faith in Christ. Be reconciled to God! Again I say, "Wherefore, come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you and will be a Father unto you and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty!"
