Hey RaChNeeDsCeRtaiNTy,
I read your post today and felt compelled to sign up just so I can reply. Actually I have never been on this site before, I just stumbled on it surfing the net coz I couldn’t sleep. I’m not a counselor, and not attending any church right now. I’m just someone who’s been where you are. I gathered from reading your post that at one point or another you did believe in Him, fully, wholeheartedly. I was there, and the beauty of it is, He’s still there. The problem is that most Christians today are looking for what God can do for them. The tendency towards selfishness, which exists in every one of us, often drowns the voice of the Holy Spirit saying I need a relationship with you first. That is Gods greatest desire, is to have a relationship with you. And he does not need to prove anymore that he exists or that he loves you than what He has already done. Roman chapter 1 says we have no excuse, the proof is there. Our problem is sin and unbelief.
Let me share with you the abc’s of the gospel which will give you an awesome relationship with God. The bible calls this the simplicity of the gospel. God had a plan to restore relationship with us. That plan was sending Jesus to the cross to pay the price owed to God for our sins. I come along and find out that I’m a sinner. I hear from God that I need to get saved and that there is a savior. I express faithor belief in God’s redemption plan-Christ and him crucified. God, waiting that expression of faith then sends his grace. It’s a system of Faith and Grace. You place your faith in Gods redemption plan, God seeing that, sends Grace. You believe, God sends Grace. What does Grace do? In the Salvation experience it regenerates you, writes your name in the lambs book of life, wipes out all the past charges, causes you to become a new creation in Christ Jesus; the Holy spirit takes up residence within you, starts teaching and guiding you in what is right and wrong and cleansing you of all filthiness of flesh and spirit. All this and you haven’t done anything, except BELIEVE in what Christ did for you.
Ok, so that covers salvation, but how do I live this Christian life which, to be honest, sometimes seems too hard? Colossians 2:6 As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord so walk ye in Him. It doesn’t get simpler than that. In the same manner as you came into relationship with God, live out your Christian experience. How did we come into relationship with God? We placed our faith in his redemption plan, Christ and him crucified, and God sent his grace to change us. As long as your object of faith is Christ and him crucified, and not what you do, God will continue to send his grace and do the work himself. Don’t worry about changing yourself, that’s his job. He just wants you to keep your faith on the plan. And don’t worry about failure, just repent, maintain your object of faith and let him work on you. I promise you that you’ll start seeing yourself doing things that are so hard to do, like praying, reading the bible, etc. not because you want God to do something, but because God is already doing something. You’ll start seeing the confirmation you’re looking for. God bless. Eph 2:8, Col 2:6, Eph 2:10, Phil 2:13,
Bible Heroes Ministry wrote:I am absolutely amazed by these comments. Absolutely. Does Prayer work? You have got to be kidding me. Let me tell you something false teachers, false prophets and everything in between. Quit reading the bible with a CARNAL mind. You are to worship the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Creator of Heaven and Earth, God of Israel with all your mind, body, spirit and soul. EVERYTHING YOU HAVE. Quit playing him for what you can get. 2 Peter 2:20 -21. Let me tell you something GOD owes YOU NOTHING!! And every single one of us OWES him EVERYTHING!!! Yeshua is the ultimate intercessor, did he go off and pray to the Lord, yes scripture has said, everyone in the Bible Old Testament New Testament prayed and saught the face of the Lord. Did miracles happen? YES. But the kind of prayers mainstream Christanese pray do NOT. There is a reason for that. Far too much for me to have to type. Why did the disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray? BECAUSE when Yeshua prayed THINGS HAPPENED!! When the Men and Women of God, the ones who walk and talk in truth and spirit. trust me pew warmers, things happen!!!!! Strongholds are broken, the sick are healed, the lame walk, body parts and reformed, tumors disappear. and it goes on and on and on....You need to be desparate and hungry for the Lord, turn from your evil desires and wicked ways, then and only then may you see his face.....Now, quit playing church and start being the CHURCH....
With all do respect...I'm nost sure the context of your response. I have read nothing above where anyone states that God owes something, except for the questioning from someone who does not fully believe and does not have conplete Faith in Christ as of yet. The response from the one before this one was much more welcoming and UNDERSTANDABLE for a non-believer. Why approach one who doubts with pointed finger and anger? That is how non-believers are scared away from Christians today. Our job as Christians is to open the door with a smile on our faces, love in our hearts, Bible in hand, ready to accept anyone and everyone so we can TEACH them and GIVE them the answers they are looking for. Please consider this when replying to anyone who has doubt. You may have the right intention and maybe your voice gives the correct tone, but your fingers do the opposite.
