Newbie...Marriage and physical abuse
Reply Quote
Good evening. This is my first time on this site and I'm trusting it will be a great experience. My question is for those of you who don't believe in divorce. Do you think it would be acceptable for a woman to get a divorce, if she's being physically abused?

Good Morning, this is also my first time on the discussion board.  I personally don't believe in divorce BUT GOD does not want you to be in a marriage where physical abuse is taking place.  I once read that "conflict comes in cycles as do the different stages of healing.  No one has the right to abuse you".  Read Psalms 11:5, Psalms 12:5.  I'm speaking from experience, you have to help yourself by doing what is right for you to protect you.  I was told that the first time a woman is abused she is a victim, BUT the second time she is a volunteer.  Don't be a volunteer, you are worth more that you are getting.  GOD has a plan for you; you have to trust him 100% and he will direct your path.

Have you or you and your spouse gone to counseling?

Be Blessed and remember GOD is your only strength.

All thru the bible God speaks against divorce but he does gives as that option as a human being,   thats where our faith and our walk with God comes in,  if you completely dedicate your life to God and walk in his will and way,  God will take care of this person that is abusing you.   Thats where we all make a mess in life when we do things ourselves.   Leaders tend to overlook the fact when we are saints of God if we are divorced the bible does not allow us to remarry.   You are only free when your spouse dies.  In God's eyes you will still be married to this person even tho you have a divorce on paper.
