Racial Reconciliation

I am writing you in response to an e-mail I received from you organification regarding the concept of 'Racial Reconciliation'.  I am aware of what the scriptures has to say about' the brotherhood of mankind' from God's perspective, but that is not what has been practiced by 'The Body of the Church' within the Americas.  I believe that before any meaningful discussion can be conducted on the concept 'The Body of the Church' needs to be completely honest about how things have been practiced by certain members of the Church within the Americas.  And one of the first things that needs to be done is to be honest about the language and its definitions so people are not avoiding dealing with the true and underlining issues involved.

According to Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary – the definition of the word ‘Reconciliation’ is defined as ‘the action of reconciliation or the state of being reconciled’.

And according to Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary – the definition of the word ‘Reconcile’ is defined as ‘to restore to friendship or harmony’.

Therefore the concept of reconciliation between Black and White people is not possible since their initial relationship within the Americas was never based on friendship or harmony; to the contrary it was strictly based on White people’s degradation, humiliation and exploitation of Black people.

So before any meaningful relationship can possibly exist between Black and White people there first has to be an honest and comprehensive declaration by White people of everything that has been done to Black people. This means White people must be completely forthright about everything they have done to Black people, why it was done to Black people and how White people benefited by doing so.  Anything less than an honest and comprehensive declaration by White people will undermine the possibility for any future meaningful relationship between Black and White people.  And the sole arbitrator and final authority on the comprehensiveness and forthrightness of White people’s declaration shall be Black people.

If White people are sincere about having a meaningful relationship with Black people then this is the beginning of what must be done.  Anything less shall be considered meaningless rhetoric by White people and shall be completely ignored by Black people.

If  'The Body of the Church' within the Americas had been conducting itself according to what the scriptures has to say about 'the brotherhood of mankind' from God's perspective then there would not be any issue to deal with.  So if we are going to deal with this issue then lets deal with it honestly and comprehensively or not at all.
