I could go on and on but ithink you get my point. Another reason why folks stay home on sunday is that there is what i believe a lack of annoiting manifesting from the pulpit because of religion lack of vision or plainly put lack of faith. And finally what is the church doing? Those who are doers of the word are the ones who are drawing closer to gods will in other words full speed ahead! The end result lack of attendance in the church. So i say to the 77 percent who stay at home '' to he who has ears let him hear'' (to what the spirit has to say)    Report

08-19-2008, 12:50 PM Eugene777 Joined on 08-19-2008 Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States Posts 7 Re: No one goes to church.............. it is hard when you read about the early church then you take a good look at the church to day it's not quite the same, many people say it's sin or it's it's the world infuence, but I say that the return of the pharacies, we have replaced our nurturing relationship with a entertainment relaitionship, and milk is on the menu, the gap between the preists and the people has become a chasem, we have lost our konania, and the priesthood blames everyone else but them selves, Paul had a stroung nurturing relationship even after the child has left the house, for exsample my father even after all of His childeren left to start a families of there own He was still the the Dad and was mighty to save with a healing hand and a stroung rebuke and when all was said and done He left a great inheritance for His Grandchilderen, Jesus was quick to begin the weaning prosses of milk to meat and He was faithful through out there life so He always had something to offer, what ever the age may be, most mid life christians ( Sprirtual maturity ) are tired of having puppets waved in front of us and told be good pay your tithe and attend church services and all will be well, them when we read the Holy Scriptures we see relationship that was so abounding, unity that made them like minded, everyone possesed nothing and everything and the Holy Spirit confirmed everything thruogh transperancy and relationships, signs and wounders where a by product of there faith and relationship, when two or more are gathered or agree but our attude is mech not family, many that I call driftwood are looking for more, a home, a dinner table where thay are partaker's not watching, may the Lord return to us Fathers and priest to our Tables amen.    Report

The books of Acts teaching us exactly how the church (eklessia), the saints, belivers, because even the word christian is not found in the scriptures, needs to live and workship our God and Savior Jesus Christ our Lord or Owner. When we allow God to teach us what exactly the truth is found in the scriptures all the teachings and religion influences we have had falls down to the cracks. The Church is not a building. The Church is us the belivers in Jesus our Owner. We were bought by a high price. Our Creator died for us and instead of following the patterns of God we are following the patterns of men. The books of Acts shows people receiving the Good News of salvation and naturally gathering according the cities the lived in their homes. The only division between them was the border of the cities. In order words the division was a geografic one. The book of Acts is my favorite one because shows the unity of the body of Christ as a organic body working according the gifts that the Lord gave them. According to the patterns of God the Eklessia, belivers had everything in common, even they sold their properties to spread the wealth between each other because they understood that they were members of one body and the Head is Jesus our Ower. We maybe can start reading the books of Acts with a open mind and a humbled heart and let our Teacher Jesus to show us His way. I assure you that what the scriptures tells us is way different and what the religion had preached for ever. Jesus did not come to teach how to be religious. He gave His life for us to recover us because mankind is the sheep that He lost. I know religion is going away because God purpose is to to bring all things to the obedience of Jesus Christ the Savior of mankind.    Report

There is definitely a need for fellowship with your Christian brothers and sisters for many different reasons. But I have found one church online that I wish was in my neighborhood. It is called the synagogue church. I found it one day when I was browsing the different pastors on Streaming Faith. The pastors name is TB Joshua and they have a television station called Emmanuel TV  that airs Christian programs and their sunday services live. I was amazed at what I was seeing and now I cannot turn it off. Their website is www.emmanuel.tv or info@scoan.org    Report

Ireally would apperciate it when people get this topic together.. First I believe that if is right to go to church, then it must be wrong. Now in Psalms and other scriptures we can find where the presene of the lord is. He dwells in the firamnet of his own power. He is not the Hold one that comes to us, but we are the finite creatures to go to him. Get up and enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. be thankful and bless hi. his courts are not in your home or streaming faith. so please stop passing this false truth around... I really wish we would stop allowing SATAN to come in our minds and make us believe that there is something better than what has always been GODs way. Christ said I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the father but by me. Keep focus on the mission of God and that is to go ye therefore and teach all nations.. I agree very much with what you said especially "I am getting a hold of God during the week and what he is teaching me is confirmed through the sermon." Along with everything else you said this is really the foundation for church because when we are seeking God for ourselves and He confirms what He has been speaking to us all week it puts us in agreement with our Pastors and the body of Christ which is the church.    Report

LOL, Im sorry to say that I think Jesus was prophesying the future there, for "my fathers house should be a house of worship and they have made it a den of theives" is just right for todays time. I believe thats why people dont want to go to church anymore. Although there is much praise and worship you have to wonder who the pastors are telling you to worship, God or mammon.    Report
