Prayer works. But there are conditions to effective prayer.
Reply Quote

The ferevrent effective prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Great faith is undeniable. It always believes God. We can never ever have faith in faith, but we need to have faith in the promises, nature, and character of God. To know God's character, is to renew your mind, and get the worldly junk out, that clutters your thought life. It is written to take every thought captive. Not every demon. So we want to not depend on ourselves, and our abilities to get into the grace of God. But instead we need to put our mind in agreement with God, and what He says we are, and what He says we can have.

Our spirit agrees with God, when we are Born-Again believers. We also need to get our mind and body into that agreement also. Ability is good, but ability will only take you so far. Ability is in the natural realm. Having faith in God's grace, and coming into agreement with Him with our mind, by renewing our mind, and walking in the spirit is how prayer and confession of the Word works. It is depending totally on God, and HIS supernatural ability.

Knowing God's Character and His nature causes us to stand in faith and agree with God, and it gives us the desire to be ferverent, because we renew our mind with the Word. We know that God's perfect love casts out all fear, and that He hasn't given us a spirit to fear, but of peace, love, and a sound mind.

In reading the Word, confessing it to come into agreement with God, because faith comes by hearing and that the Word of God. It puts us into the position, that we can understand that God is the Author, and finisher of our faith.

So if a person is believing that he is already healed, when he comes to God. Means that he has come into agreement in his mind, that by the stripes of Jesus he is healed and made whole. This also says that he is walking in the spirit.

Denying that you are sick has no power. You need to understand that ritualistic confession has no power. You may say that you have confessed healing Scripture a hundred times today, and don't understand why God hasn't healed you. But if there is no faith and agreement in God's Word about healing in your mind, then healing will not manifest in your body. Becuase we need to walk in the spirit, line our mind and body up with the spirit, and God's Word, and as we pray we also have to know that we are the righteousness of Jesus, and then we are made righteous by what we believe in our heart. But healing then takes place in the confession, the same as when you confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You believed first-Righteousness. Then you confessed-Salvation.

So when we pray, we need to see it as completed. Because Jesus has already done all that He needs to, and is going to do, for Salvation, healing, and the victory over Satan that lets us live, not only above, but far above Satan's curse, and Satan himself.

This is the same principle in all of our prayer life. We cannot please God without faith. So if we don't believe, then we tie God's hands, and prayer is ineffective. If we doubt when we pray, we cannot believe that we will get anything from God. For if we doubt, we are like the waves of the sea, tossed and driven by the wind. We then are double minded, and a double minded man is unstable in all his way.

So the prayer of faith is undeniable. It always gets results. God's is a results God. We need to be a prayer by faith, believing in God's manifested results, Christian.

Remember that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.

   Blessings. Rev. Duane.

Sir..I  never  doubt the power  of  either  prayer or  God, but  I do at times  doubt myself...

bonding  is  something  I  have  experienced  little  of  thru  my  life..one  thing  and  another  has  caused  me to  be introverted,  and as  much as  I love  life  and  embrace  all of mankind,  I  rarely  feel  this is  reciprocated, some say I  run too much or  push  folk  away...

I  wonder  then  will  my  hearts/mind  have the  same  effect  when  I  am  on  bended  knee,  though  I  feel  God  is  close  and  hears  my every   word, is my  inner  emptiness (lonliness)  caused  by not enough  overall  Faith  in God?..(  am  I  making  sense)

This is The Day that the Lord had Made We Will rejoice and be glad in it....

I think we all go through this during our stay here on Earth; not just once during our lives, but several times.  satan uses doubt against us fervently. It's a buddy to fear; basically, it's the telemarketing appointment setter for fear to enter your heart.... This  is why the Apostle Paul taught us long and hard about growing up in faith. It doesn't just happen; you have to work at it...."Practise makes perfect" as they say...

Just the fact that you have these concerns about your faith shows God that you are growing.  For He can use even our weakenesses to strengthen us! know that He cares more about what is earnestly in your heart, than you feeling like you are some mega-strong faith man.... "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man, availeth much"...james 5:16... what does that mean? It means that you work at it; speak the words that God has given us in His Book of Life. You don't have to feel them. That emptiness you speak of is a good place to start: invite the Holy Spirit into every void space you feel; ask Him to fill up the emptiness; I believe these are spots that have been washed clean of things of our past life( the one you lived before you were saved) so now they are empty spaces needing to be filled. It's up to you what you fill them up with. The Lord told the lame man at the pool to go and sin no more, or it will be far worse what would become of him, should he turn back to his old habits... Fill that emptiness with the words of God; and know that His Word is Alive and True.  We have been duped for generations into thinking that if we don't feel something; then we can't believe it.  God counted righteousness to Abraham because he knew that the Lord was True, not because he felt that the Lord's word was True. You don't feel a cloud, do you?  But you know it's there.  You don't feel a leaf fall off a tree, right? No, but you know it did.  Your sincerity towards your desires for God is what impresses the Lord to honor you prayers.  Know also that words like " doubt" and "unbelief" are not just phrases or loose emotions; in fact, they aren't your emotions at all; they are demonic spirits in satan's army that are attacking your emotions! When you get that into perspective, then you can do something about it. You can rebuke doubt, and unbelief; you have been given the authority to use the Lord's Very Own Name to do so.  You can speak words of faith into your heart, and mind, and those demons will have no place to enter!

Remember that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.

********
The above was written In the Gospel. In the NEW TESTAMENT, THAT WE would never have had without also first having the OLD TESTAMENT,
Without BOTH OLD and NEW there would not be a BOOK OF REVELATION OF who JESUS CHRIST WAS and IN WHOM WE ARE IN HIM.

I say and type this because I BELIEVE IN MY HEART that MY FAITH IN GOD, CHRIST JESUS, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, IS EXACTLY A TRUTH FOR ME AND SHOULD BE FOR ALL THAT HAVE LIFE and HAVE HAD LIFE and THOSE THAT COME AFTER US MEANING MY CHILDREN THEIR CHILDREN AND THEIR CHILDRENS CHILDREN.

THE GOSPEL AS mankind has been given this BOOK OF BOOKS CALLED the HOLY BIBLE that is all over this world to be given read and believed BY FAITH IN WHAT HAS been written COPIED and GIVEN TO US as MANKIND a TESTIMONY OF HIS REALITY PRESENCE AND UNDENIABLE TRUTH IN WHAT WAS IS AND FOREVER WILL BE.
YOU being a REVERAND preacher teacher and speaker of what has already been and has been even for all those that you might call ancestors before you. CORRECT ME IF I am wrong in SPEAKING WHAT I HONESTLY BELIEVE IN MY HEART of these words I am speaking are TRUTH IF WE ARE TO believe BY FAITH IN the GOSPEL BOOK OF THE LAMBS BOOK OF LIFE.

NOW AS HE speaks out of the abundance of MY HEART I AM NOT GOD> yet I DO UNDERSTAND THAT GOD is SPIRIT. and THE BAPTISM of HIS SPIRIT is a REALITY IN MANY LIVES. YET this does not make us GOD AND HIS PERFECTION . FOR WE ARE NOT PERFECT AND WE CAN NEVER BE SINLESS AS CHRIST WAS SINLESS. can we?? OF COURSE NOT. IF any of man or woman had no sin we would never have needed this HOLY BIBLE BOOK OF THIS GOSPEL TO TESTIFY OF would we..

WHO HAS not anything to testify of what THE LORD HATH DONE FOR THEM? PROMISES GIVEN BY GOD I HAVE FOUND HE DOES NOT LIE. I MAY HAVE SUFFERED and do suffer YET GOD HAS STILL given all my needs . and FAITH> I HAVE HAD. STILL HAVE THROUGH IT ALL. why??? because I know CHRIST JESUS LIVES. AND the LORD I KNOW HAS NOT LIED ABOUT THE WORD THAT HE HAS HAD WRITTEN.... MALACHI 3;16: WE CANNOT NEGLET GENESIS, NOR REVELATION 22;21:

FAITH IN THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON CHRIST JESUS REALLY DOES MATTER. THAT IS what SEPERATES CHRIST IANITY FROM ISLAM HINDU< AND BUDDISM OR ANY OTHER BELIEF THAT DENIES CHRIST JESUS AS LORD OUR SAVIOR.

WITHOUT OUR FAITH IN HIM AND OUR HOPE IN HIS PROMISE WHY DO ANY OF US CONTINUE WHEN THINGS GET ROUGH?? THE GOSPEL REVEALS HE NEVER PROMISED NO WARS, NO TRIALS, AND NO TROUBLE. AS FOR DECEPTION ... THAT ALSO WAS IN GENESIS FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.... YET IN THE NEW TESTAMENT WE READ THAT DECIEVER WAS DEFEATED BY WHOM/ JOHN 17; NO GENESIS there would never be REVELATION.

WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT FERVENT FAITHFUL BELIEVING PRAYER ???

MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA, MAY THE BANNER OF FREEDOM FLY HIGH AS THE EAGLE ISRAEL AND THE JEW SHALL SURVIVE. AND SO WILL OUR RED WHITE AND BLUE THE SYMBOL OF FREEDOM TO MANY IN THE WORLD. YET THE STAR OF DAVID WAS FIRST. DO WE STAND WITH HER AND THOSE OR ABANDON THEM TO FIGHT ALONE............??? I WOULD PRAY WE HAVE NO RETREATING IN OUR HEARTS FOR THIS WAR WE FIGHT THIS DAY in the year of our Lord. MAY OUR LORD GOD PROTECT ALL OUR TROOPS THAT ARE FIGHTING TO KEEP THE BANNER OF FREEDOM AND THE STAR OF DAVID FLYING FREELY FREEDOM NEVER HAS BEEN FREE. AND YES I DO PRAY IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.

I think the conditions to effective prayer is not to take God for granted walk circumspect and live your life according to the word and guidance by the Holy Spirit. It is hard to believe sometimes especially when we are not sure if we are living our lives according to how God wants us to live our lives, Holy and accepting to him. I believe that when we worship God in Spirit and it truth, that he more than comes forth. I also think that if there is sin in your life, it is very hard for God to penetrate, even though he does come to our aid when he thinks we need his help the most. Prayer does work, but I believe when we are genuine, then God answers our very need. I had gone through a divorce recently, but I wanted to know from God why things had started happening to me and it was all strange. It was one bad thing after another. When I fasted, God answered my prayer and expressed to me the reason why he took me out of a situation and it was going to get worse if he didnt'. I just thanked him for it. The thing is, until I was willing to sacrifice something by fasting and dig in deep to understand why I went through what I did, and trusted God for an answer, then only then would I truly learn to trust God. I think if a prophet had told me what God told me, I would not have believed it. I needed to hear it from the throne of God. Prayer is the only way to stay connected to God and get the right answers to problems. I thank God that I am able to come to him.

Reverend Duane,
I am in the process of praying for healing. It does not make sense to me why I have not received. I meditate on the scriptures, and pray using scripture. I do not know if it is that my faith is not yet strong enough or that the time is not right.

When I was a child, my friend smashed my finger in the door of her mom's van. Her mom instantly turned around, told me to stop screaming, and that we were going to pray and God was going to heal my finger. My finger had been smashed to the point where you could see bone, afterwards I quickly forgot which finger had been smashed. It had been supernaturally healed.

but, for my current situation what should I do?

Thank you,
N.Lynn

I've found prayer works MIRACLES, but you have to have Faith and this prayer from one of my favorite Blogger's is one I'll be praying this year. I encourage you all to read it and visit her page, she has a Wonderful Word.

A Prayer for 2010

Father, I come most humbly to your throne of grace with a thankful heart and a renewed mind.  Lord, I ask that as we enter into 2010 that you will continue to encamp your angels of protection around us during this year.  Father, you know our needs and deepest desires and we ask that that you would meet them according to Your will oh Lord.  Draw us closer to you Father and reveal Your purpose so that we may walk out Your plans.  Father make this year the blessed one yet.  Remove the spirit of procrastination in our lives and help us to take the required steps to fulfill the destiny that you have set before us.  Remove the things, people, attitudes and habits that may be preventing us from rising to the next level in Your kingdom.

Help us to honor you in every thing that we do as we surrender our weaknesses and temptations on your altar God. Show us your glory as we come deeper into your presence.  Help us to live a life or prayer, worship and obedience.  We want to live a life that is pleasing to you.  As this new year comes upon us help us to refresh and renew our minds and our hearts to be open to receive only what you have for us.  In previous years, we have made plans and attempted to make them work on our own doing.  We want God Ordained Direction so we come to you Lord.  Give us a new heart that seeks your will and help us to step back from each and every situation to watch you work it out for us.  Give us the strength to walk in your truth and help us to have the wisdom to make the right decisions in 2010.  Guard our hearts from hurt and produce the right fruit within our lives.  In 2010 we will be believing for miracles, answered prayer, manifested purposes, and destinies fulfilled!  Make us more like you Lord.

God we surrender each and every past circumstance to you as we prepare for a bright 2010.  We surrender hurt, grudges, pain and anything that may be holding us back from loving the way that you have called us to love one another.  We ask that you take what the enemy meant for bad and turn around for our good.  Fulfill desires of our hearts and fill those missing pieces in our lives with Your love.  We ask for forgiveness for all of our transgressions and we have the faith that they are washed away and we are new creatures ready to do your work! Take our dreams and manifest them into more than what we could ever imagine they would be.  Thank You for Your faithfulness, love, protection, blessings and Your life.  What greater Love is there than you Lord?  We look forward to the blessings that you are going to bestow upon us in 2010 and we promise to give you all the glory, honor and praise that You so righteously deserve.  Make our lives a living testimony of your love.

In Jesus' Mighty Name we pray,

Amen!
