poison in the water

Up until relatively recently I have "sworn" by the NKJV and have used this version for some15 years.  However, I have recently come across some information which I find most disturbing in respect to both this and the NIV versions of the Bible.  I heard of a conspiracy whereby a New Age consortium funded and founded a project to water down the Bible.  This project was commenced in the late 1890's.  They employed an editor for this project from an occultic magazine.  I was told that this project resulted ultimately in the printing, publishing and marketing of the New International Version!

Quite a claim you might say!  Yeah, me too... but I wasn't going to disregard it completely as it may have held some truth...  I typed into google the words NIV Conspiracy and, although I didnot find evidence confirming THIS theory I did find a parallel theory with reference to the production of the New King James Version. You can read the article for yourself if you follow my tracks via the search engine and then click on www.kjv1611.org (if you don't go in via the search engine you will find yourself bogged down with a lot of other (equally interesting yet for this point irrelevant) articles so I suggest you use this method of searching)

We wonder why the teaching in the Church is all grace and no repentance.  We wonder why mature Christians (including myself) are mature in the things and gifts of the Spirit yet have a hard time receiving and accepting forgiveness and in understanding and acting out true repentance..?  Brother, sister I believe this is why...

If I put a glass in front of you and told you it contained pure cyanide in liquid form you would not drink it...neither would I..  But if a trusted christian organisation, with a known track record, reccommended not only by your Pastor but also by the leadership of your entire denomination placed a glass in front of you, stating that it contained purified water, you or I would not hesitate to believe them.  Yet this, I believe, is exactly what has happened with these versions of the bible.  A watered down, new age philosophy, politically correct and grossly misrepresented version of the bible has been given to us, and we are being slowly poisoned...  Poisoned by the belief that Satan is stronger, poisoned by the belief that Satan has a throne rather than a seat, by the belief that we are slaves to Him instead of servants, that sinners are condemned but not damned (a license for repetitive sin) They change science to knowledge (science is a transient art, what we know today was yesterday beyond our grasp, yesterdays science is todays trash and tomorrows is unreachable) whereas knowledge means fact; they remove the word Lord 66 times, God 51 times, heaven 50 times and in total make 100,000 word changes and remove 2,289 words from the Authorized Version (KJV).  All scripture references to the above examples are contained within the article on the website.

Yet they insist that "Nothing has been changed except to make the original meaning clearer."  We have an expression here in England, "clear as mud!" they have successfully muddied the waters of the word.  If the Bible is to be taken literally then the last Words of Christ as recorded by St John should be a grave warning to those who would presume to edit and re-interpret the Word of God..."

"18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." KJV

In the Garden of Eden satan cast doubt upon the Words of God with the words "did God say..?" his strategy has not changed.. What better way to throw the Church into dis-unity and to weaken the fibre of it's people than to water down and to call into question the very essence of God's word by spoon-feeding subtle lies into the hearts of men each time they read His Word?  This, I believe, is an alternative take on the parable of the Tares and the Wheat.  We must take care not to mistake what the devil has sown with the good seed of the sower, Jesus.

Most telling I feel is the way in which 2 Cor 2:17 is amended in the NKJV and the NIV... they change, "For we are not as many which CORRUPT the word of God" to "For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God" (!) Peddling doesn't even mean the same thing, it means those who sell or haggle with passers-by.. not the same at all!  Plus even Satan is bound by the Truth and he could not state in his version of the Bible that he was not corrupting the word of God, because he was!!

With reference to NASB the article writer states that this version has many similarities to both the NIV and the NKJV as well as the RSV and NRSV as regards the perversion and pollution of the Word of God.  With regard to other versions such as the NLT, TLB The Amplified Bible, CEV and The Message the article writer makes no reference to these and so the jury is out as to whether or not these have have been influenced by a New-Age/Satanic agenda. However, the writer does imply that most modern methods base their writing style upon the bench-mark set by the NIV.  Therefore we must be "wise as serpents and harmless as doves.."  In order to discern the true and unadulterated Word of God.

A quick look at the word "corrupt" in the Strong's Concordance provides the translation that prompts someone to use the word "peddle", for the Greek word means "(a huckster); to retail, that is (by implication) to adulterate (figuratively) to corrupt." {Source of this information: "E-Sword" You can find it on line as well, and download it to your computer. It has many Bible helps.}

By implication, as I understand Paul's thoughts in this passage: Paul was making the point to his audience that someone needed forgiveness, and it was given (2 Cor. 2:10 KJV) "in the person of Christ" -- meaning according to the Greek, in the presence of , or in front of, or in the state of, Christ (as if Christ Himself was doing the forgiving because we worship "in Spirit and in Truth" -- at one with the Spirit and His perception of truth for He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.)

In Verse 17, again he mentions "in the sight of God speak we in Christ".

To make this concept as plain as I can -- he was saying that what God was doing through Paul was unmixed with any other belief systems, or thoughts, or ways of doing things, like marketing the gospel for their own profit, rather than setting the captives free and taking care of the flock as God's heart demands.

All that he said, and did for the Lord, was at one with the Spirit of God, in order to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom of God with, and by the sincere love of God.

For it was made clear in the Old Testament that to care for the widow, the fatherless, and the orphaned was to know God. In the New Testament Jesus said, to believe those whom God sent was to do the work of God.

Let's be careful that we do not quibble about words as Paul warned us not to, and instead get to know God so that we can truly make Him known among the nations.

It is an honor and a priviledge to own His love letter to us. It is a great honor to know Him, for this is surely why He decided long ago to write it on our hearts, so that no one could fight about what He said, or meant by what He said.

He want's to be your Father; He wants to love you so completely. He wants to reveal Himself to you, and enjoy sweet fellowship with you, just as a husband with a wife he cherishes deeply.

Please don't louse that up by questioning another man's faith as he hoped he was translating what he read correctly, so as to bring you the Word of God at the cost of his life.

Well, naturally, the people at a KJV (Only) website are going to do all in their power to poison the minds of anyone who is reading the 'new' translations, especially the NKJV, because it poses the biggest threat to their idol, the KJV.

The NKJV was translated by excellent scholars, who are believeing individuals. They all subscribed to the Bible being the only authortative, verbally inspired, infallible Word of God. I have read in several places that the Old Testament of the NKJV is the finest translation available. Regarding the New Testament, the NKJV is, in very, very many places, a much better translation of the Textus Receptus, which is what the KJV is based on.

I think that the only poison available are those poisonous KJV-Only websites.

If you have a hard copy of the NIV, I have found the passage taken out are usually included in the footnotes instead of being in the verse.

I prefer KJV myself although I do have a NKJV, NAB and an Amplified Bible. Question is, what did the people use before the KJV came along? It makes me wonder which is really the true version since the KJV actually took out 7 books normally in what is now called the Catholic version.

It is a conspiracy and those people will have to answer to God. I read the KJV because I found too many discrepanies in the NIV.

Jesus said you take up serpents and drink poisen and not die? all trans have this scripture, But the real question is if you only had the old testiment could you still have the new covanent scriptures that all that Jesus and the apostals had, what if you used the old testiment to teach the new would it be the same? God does not judge us by the translation we use me I like them all but hHe judges our hearts, our faith, and our deeds.

2nd Timothy 2: 15. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
For me the KJV is the oldest version available in english to study. Although it may be hard for some people to get used to the old english after a while it gets easyier. That is why they have concordances to help get the true meaning of the words you don't understand. Plus in biblical study it is helpful to know that the words in italics have been added it translation and do not always represent the true meaning. Other versions can be quite helpful and I would not exclude them from your study, but you should always remember that the word must not have any conflicts in itself.
Keep studing and God will fill your heart and mind with truth.
