Ministry Description

Second Ebenezer Church, located in Detroit, Michigan, is a growing ministry of over 6,000 members.  Dr. Edgar L. Vann is the Pastor and President of the Church.  Second Ebenezer holds as its mission to be ‘An Empowered Church Impacting the World’. To accomplish this the church has implemented programming, delivered by the church and Vanguard CDC, its community development corporation, to meet needs such as child care for working parents, transportation, youth mentoring and tutoring, life skill applications, financial literacy and stabilization, job training, community organization and most importantly spiritual development. This programming has been enhanced by the provision of 130 units of affordable housing with plans to add another 300 additional single family homes, condominiums, apartments and commercial/residential lofts.  Second Ebenezer is fueling economic activity with the development of new retail space and a Dry Cleaner to service the Northend area.  This community transformation being experience is championed by the Dr. Edgar L. Vann.
