Ministry Description
Temple Baptist Church was established on December 3rd 1961.With the assistance of a U.S. Southern Baptist Missionary (Rev. Weldon Viertel) and Reverend. Baltrol Bethel of The Bahamas. This was done because of their desire to meet the spiritual needs of the Farrington Road Community. Today the current Pastor is Reverend A. Geoffrey Wood who was installed on January 27th 1985. Under his leadership, the church has seen vast improvements and has an active Music, Youth, Women, Men, and Outreach Ministry that services the needs of the community which includes door to door visitations. The church conducts a Vacation Bible School in New Providence and the outlying Islands of The Bahamas called “The Family Islands”. Temple continues to support home mission churches through out the Bahamas through The Bahama Islands Baptist Association in Ragged Island, Acklins, Haiti and Nicaragua.
