Calif. Megachurches Unite to Cry Out Against Abortion
from The Christian Post

Evangelical megachurches across San Diego, Calif. joined Catholics on Sunday to make a public outcry against abortion in their first ever joint pro-life rally.

The demonstration, which took place on the same day President Barack Obama took the stage at the University of Notre Dame to deliver the commencement speech.

While the San Diego rally was fundamentally a pro-life rally, the undertone of the event was "a statement to the president that the killing of babies must come to an end," Pastor Jim Garlow of Skyline Church told The Christian Post.

Garlow, along with thousands of Catholics, believes the University of Notre Dame is violating its Roman Catholic values by awarding Obama with an honorary doctor of laws degree.

"We join with many in noting this moment of deception and shame," Garlow said.

The Skyline Church pastor is not new to the cultural wars scene.

Last year, his 2,500-member church actively rallied California congregations to help pass Proposition 8, which defines marriage as between a man and a woman.

This year, he called up his busy "evangelical friends" to create a "powerful new force" to the pro-life movement. And at a moment's notice, Garlow noted, they hopped on board.

"I'm amazed," Garlow said. "I have not seen this willingness to be active and speak out for about 20 years."

"I have not seen this kind of concern over the pro-life cause."

The cause for concern and urgent sentiment, the San Diego pastor believes, is President Obama's recent pro-abortion actions, including the repeal of the Mexico City Policy which banned federal funding for international groups that perform or promote abortions.

"With President Obama releasing the floodgates of abortion and murder of children, it has caused a national shift in public opinion," Garlow noted, noting the recent Pew Research and Gallup polls that show a majority of Americans now identify as pro-life over pro-choice.

"While the pro-life cause has lost in the courts, lost in the halls of Congress, and lost in the White House, the American conscience is recognizing abortion for what it is: murder," he stated. "And a public outcry is mounting."

Although Obama has expressed commitment to reduce abortions, many evangelical pastors are not satisfied.

"It's like saying 'ten people were unjustly killed but since I dropped it to four people, it makes me better,'" Garlow said. "A murderer is still a murderer."

On Sunday, congregants from Skyline, The Rock Church, Shadow Mountain Church, Horizon Church, New Venture Christian Fellowship, and East Clairemont Southern Baptist Church will rally in front of the San Diego County Administration Building. There, participants will hear live reports from the Notre Dame campus where protests and arrests are ongoing and where some 40 graduating seniors will hold their own gathering in opposition to Obama speaking.

"I believe the Bible mandates that we speak out on the truth," Garlow stressed. "We're not commanded to be silent, but to speak the truth and boldly, not only hidden in pulpits but openly on the streets."

"That's the nature of Old Testament prophets and what Christ did," he added. "He'd be speaking out against abortion as a horrible, unjust treatment."

Life is not given to be taken lightly. Neither shall we end another to grow. everything happens for a reason. Who is to know but he whose name is holy. Abortion is a murder and it goes against the principle that Jesus left for us."LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THY SELF". No one knows the future, but who are we to decide when it will end.

I would just like to add one more comment to the one I just wrote. Ladies, if you are reading the writing "Give This Baby A Chance and you already had a abortion, you know that our God is a forgiving God and if you fall to your knees, cry out to him and
ask for His forgiveness, He will forgive you. Take what happened to you now and share your story. You may help to prevent someone else from making that mistake. Your story could have a mighty impact on girls/women everywhere. You never know. Wouldn't it be worth it to know you may have just saved one innocent soul!
If you think about it, we are all so lucky, we are right here reading what each other wrote, but just think there are millions of souls who will never have this opportunity. They could have been your best friend, your neighbor, your minister, we will never know will we??? Be blessed, you have a voice.....will you use it?
Blessings, Eva Hiers

Life was a gift from God and one that we cannot and do not have a choice to take.
A few months back the Holy Spirit woke me in the early morning hours to pen writings. I never know what the writing will be about until I have finished because the words are coming so fast my fingers can barley keep up. One particular writing had to do with this subject. The writing is titled "Give This Baby A Chance"
If you will visit my website and then scroll down about halfway you will see the
title. Click on the title and read this most inspired writing from the Holy Spirit.
I am but a simple woman whom the Lord has chosen to use, why I'm not sure of yet, but I do know I will standup for Him always unto the end! The website is:

powerful and beautiful writing! Blessings from Georgia Eva Hiers

In my opinioin we comprimise way to often with the word of GOD. The bottom line is GOD entended for women to multiply, and murder is an ULTIMATE sin.

The responsibly starts with the individual, as a country we have become so loose with our standards that now the government is involved, in more ways than one. Individuals who are actively having sex and having unplanned babies are using abortion as a quick-fix. Where is abstinance? Is anybody waiting until they get married anymore? Are we teaching our next generation biblical principles that will prevent abortion clinics from being our next "emergency room."

How about people just need to keep their legs closed, and or get on the pill and wear a condom if they are not ready to have a baby. Then stop messing around with these low life men that are not ready to be fathers and husbands.

We can't legislate abortions rights : to have or not to have, so don't blame OBAMA, abortions is between the individual and GOD. You may speak out against it, do all you can to convince the individuals that it is wrong and against the will of God. Are we to believe that this one issue the only thing our President has on his plate to be political correct about. I think he should have been asked to and allowed to speak at the graduation. I listsen to and hear many speaker that I don't agree with. We have a choice to attend or not attend. Great that you were able to come together on one accord on sunday, continue to do so if this will get individuals to stop getting abortions. I too am against abortions, but I don't expect the voting or the President to put a stop them being done
