I have only ONE question about this article: If the girl was a devout Muslim or a devout Jew, would the court be intervening? Would they say she has too "rigid" beliefs? And would the court state that a devout Muslim or Jew should intermingle with others to become more aware of other beliefs and select the type of belief system they desire when they become adults? I'm just asking....

My question concerns the judgement on religion. If this same child was attending a Christian or Catholic based school would there be an issue? If this child attends the public school and begins to fail her courses would the judge overturn the judgement on the basis that the child is not excelling academically? This is just one more plot to keep God out of our children and we need to stop sitting around as Christians and begin to fight the good fight of faith.

Unfortunately, these kind of court decisions are being made more often; the courts deciding what is best for children instead of the parents. The writing is on the wall so to speak. Please see the www.parentalrights.org website. Read about what the amendment will try to accomplish. The amendment states firstly and most importantly that the parents have the right to direct the upbringing and education of their children. It's best and easiest to fight to keep a right than to have to fight to get it back.

If education is by its nature an exploration and examination of new things etc. for development of mind and body and examining new concepts and such. Why isn't creationism taught in schools? And since everyone is so adamnant about seperating church and state this mother is seperating her daughter from the state, why then is the state forcing her to join the state. Why don't the state force Atheists to join the church. The courts are so confused that they are ending up contradicting themselves.

I think some of you are over reacting. THIS IS NOT WAR!! Please remember that as long as God is on the throne, everything that is done to or for us is for our good. I don't know the whole situation (no one but her and her parents really know what's going on) but having the girl attend public school is not an attack on her faith.
God will not allow us to bear more than we can handle and I think it's premature for people to shout out what God's will is in this little girls life. This might be a blessing for the child and we should not be so quick to judge this wrongly. The only person that truly knows God's will for our life is God, not man.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this story. On one hand I think a 10-year old is at a crucial stage in her life and can be strongly affected and heavily influenced negatively by the behaviors of her peers. But I also think she has a father in her life that, I believe, loves her as much as the mother, and he is not willing to just walk away as many men a proned to do. It was serious enough that he was willing to go to court and have another opinion imposed.
Furhtermore, I do not believe that this child's life will be destroyed and that the government has become this evil empire. Talk about extremist! Why couldn't the mother make compromises before it got this far? Maybe the father thinks that the mother is too spiritually overbearing. Is the child living for the mother or for Christ,? Has the mother becoming like extremist muslum who threaten to kill their child for "denying the faith"? Wasn't Christ's mission to make us free? Aren't we free to deny and rediscover Him on our own terms? All is not lost for this girl as some of you proclaim.
I think we need to evaluate our disdain for "the government" (where is all of that really coming from?) and pray for this little girl who is caught in the middle of a war between her parents.

In public school she will be taught masturbation and other evils our society has been corrupted with by the abuse of the courts.

This is what the judge forces the girl to submit to, against the will of God, the church and her mother!
And who will judge the judge except people of her own parasite- legal - profession?
Unless and until the Highest Judge shows up... but when will that be? So, what can we do, Lord!

This is WAR! And we should fast and pray, yes, humble ourselves and ask the Lord to show is where we personally have failed Him, repent of it, privately and corporately, and seek His face asking Him how we are to fight this war!
Is He not allmighty, and omnipotent? And is He not on our side, provided we repent of everything that is between Him and us, and continue to follow Him, obey Him?
The enemy occupies the seats of power, to enslave us, tyrannize us, rob us, destroy us, kill us, and the past decannia the church has been focused on 'taking over' or at least taking seats in this system.
This may well have been a trick of the enemy - to waste us on ways of the world, instead of God's ways to build our society and be a salting salt and a lighting light, and change our world by changing ourselves/ allowing Him to change us/ conform us to Christ.
The sides of this war are becoming more and more clear! The more Christians/ churches have tried to become a force - in the worldly way - the less spiritual force we have and are! And the world only went downhill with greater determination against the Christians and the church! And the worldly forces play false and dirty, and have all the resources! We can not and should NOT compete!
The Kingdom of God is NOT of this world. Let us preach the Gospel of, and build the Kingdom of God!
But as citizens of the land, we sure must stand up for our rights, that the State has to respect as anyone else's!

@ Jef Kas: This may be so,but this should be the free choice of the parent, not an order by an arrogant, anti-christian judge who abuses his power to enforce tyranny in the land!!

The authorities are becoming more and more the enemy of the people they are supposed to serve, and of Freedom, protecting people against tyranny, it - the State - has become the very worst TYRANT!
And such elements - judges - manifesting as the very worst criminals of the land, as they abuse their State-authority, which they have been given to serve, not to dictate, to impose and enforce the State-religion of Political-Correctism and the arrogance of bodies like these, and like psychiatrists - can not be negotiated with, but are to be overthrown with FORCE! As also the Declaration of Independence states!

Oops, I missed the sentence that said the parents were divorced. If the mom has custody she should be the one making the decisions about schooling. One of the oldest oppositions public school supporters have is the socialization issue. That is a bunch of bunk. We tell kids to stand up for what is right even if every one else is doing wrong, but the socialization is tries to make everybody the same. If the daughter knows how to interact with her peers, there is no reason to force her to go public school. Then again, my daughter is shy and was bullied because of that in public school, which led to my pulling her out with three weeks left in the school year. The best thing for her is to be home with me. Some plants grow well out in the fresh air and others need to be in a green house. Still others need a bit of time in a greenhouse and then they can be put outside. That sounds like the daughter. It seems like the girl has a strong faith and when she comes home from school, she can talk with her mother about stuff that went on and how a Christian should handle the different situations that come up.

There was no reason this should have gone to court. The mother should have listened to her husband and enrolled her daughter in public school. Even if the husband wasn't a Christian, she still should have obeyed him then prayed real hard. My mother became a Christian after she was married, but my father still is an atheist. However, my mom has found that even if she doesn't agree with my dad, she still obeys what he says to do, because things go well if she does, and badly when she doesn't. Thankfully, my father has never asked my mom to do anything against the Bible. It might seem I am being hard on the mother, but the Bible does say for wives to obey their husbands. My advice to the mother is to do as her husband asks then pray hard for her daughter. She should also realize that there are plenty of young people who are strong Christians even though they go to public schools.

I, personally, do not think that the government should have been involved in this decision. The problem is definietly between the parents and their opposing beliefs. Even though the parents are divorced, communication is still needed regarding the child. However, the mom (if I'm not mistaken) is the primary guardian over the child, which means she has the primary right to decide how she wants to raise and train her child. This is the danger of divorce. Divorce is so nasty, and it affects the child. I just pray that the child remains close to God no matter what. And I do agree that if the mother instilled the Word in the child affectively, then the child will have no difficulty going into "the world" of public school. It will be an excellent way for her to learn first-hand good from evil and how to be in the world but not of it. However, it is the mother's decision! We, as Americans, have the right to choose which avenue [of education] is best for each of our children. As long as the mother is well-educated and qualified to homeschool her child, then I see nothing wrong with homeschooling, and I see nothing wrong with Public Schooling, as long as you [the parent] do your job at home in equipping your child to be light in the midst of this dark world.

I'm going to say this and this is from an educator, and a homeschooled mom. This mom will find that by putting her child in the public school system for only three classes a day will allow her more opportunties to tie God into their lives and it will teach the young lady hands on experience on how to deal with people in the world that aren't saved.
I have two daughters that I homeschooled and for one reason or another I had to put them in public school. What I noticed is that what I put in them is great and when they come home and talk to me about boyfriends, their pregnant friends, friends who are sad and one to commit suicide, or friends that practice witchcraft... I use these as opportunities to teach. We talk about what the Bible says about each of them.
So it really doesn't matter what the courts think about her faith and how rigid it is , If mom has done a great job in instilling Christ in that baby's life, He will go with her to public school.

After reading this letter, it makes me want to go to the court house and fight for the girls rigthts. She should not be forced to enter into a public school, I know people who are homeschooled and they do better with their work then maybe 10 kids that attend a public school. I saw back in early 2004 or so that a child who was homeschooled at age 13 was in college and passing every other ccllege students grades. so don't tell me that Homeschool does not work because it does and the Government needs to come back to Jesus Christ. If they came back to Christ then America would get better. I hate this governemt system, I wish someone would oppose them and overtrow them. The government was not created by the governemt for the government it was created by the people for the people and thats the way it should always be.

Well, after reading the article, it lets me know two important things that we a Christians should always remember as long as we are in the world: one, this country continues to degenerate at a very fast pace;this country is all about brainwashing people, trying to undervalue this little innocent girl's faith, this government has no right to to this. Sister Sherry is right! I agree with her. Satin is coming to power soon. Two: This government thinks it has all the answers. It does not. All this country is now good for is NOTHING but deceiving people and playing GOD!!! Rev. Joseph L. Horne, Jr.

This a very sad case for America...to interfere when this child has excelled in her schooling which is all that they should be able to have a comment...to prove that homeschooling was not a positive for the life of that child! And to decide what the child is to believe other than what a parent teaches their in their belief as a christian family~where in the world does the court have a right to come into to a persons home and to decide what is rigid or not. It is one thing, if the child is being abused and neglected....a whole different scenario here.
This government has gone too far...divorce or not...the child is in the care of her mother....and that is her own personal right to follow her belief and raise her children the way that the Lord has directed parents to follow.
It is a travesty!
blessings Sherry
