An Accountable Love
Lisa Birch

I have a confession to make.

I've been on the hunt for an accountability partner--someone to check me regularly as I press to do better and be better in various areas of life. I like to refer to it as a "checkmate".

As much as many of us (myself included) would prefer not to depend on others, it's a fundamental truth that people need other people. Every moment interacting with someone is an opportunity to connect with a person who just may end up being vitally important in your life.

Although we can trust no man like we can trust the Creator, we can't escape the need to cultivate meaningful, productive relationships on every level--personally, professionally and spiritually.

Doesn't matter who you are or what you do, no one is above needing a little nudge, a persistent shove or a hardcore push every now and then (or more often). And it must come from someone who is genuinely concerned about helping you achieve your goals.

Someone we love.
And that loves us.

There are several roadblocks that cause us to not receive the love of God from others as we should.

Many of us ask ourselves: Am I really ready to invite someone else to get in my business? How long before it all starts to get on my nerves?

Here's what the bottom-line question must become for all of us:
"How serious am I about change?"

A true love for God's people starts with a word many of us try to often avoid: Accountability.

Have you identified any characteristics about yourself, characteristics that may hinder your growth in God? Are you lazy? Prideful? Unteachable?

Do you have a selfish streak?
Are you the guarded type?
Does transparency make you uneasy?

To begin to remove these from your life takes more than just a love for God. It takes a love for God's people, and your ability to let someone inside to keep you accountable.

Today, take a note of your tendencies, and share them with an accountability partner up front to defeat any obstacles that may arise because of you.

Begin to open yourselves to a new kind of love.

HIS LOVE LET THE BRIDE OF CHRIST TOGETHER IN HIS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, HIS LOVE THAT PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, AND THAN LET'S LET THE HOLY SPIRIT HAVE HIS DIVINE WAY IN EACH OF US, FOR GOD HAS SHED HIS COVENANT LOVE IN OUR HEARTS BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.....HIS LOVE WILL HELP EVERYTIME,HIS LOVE WILL SEE THE NEED,AND ANSWER THE NEED OF PRAYER IN HIS NAME, AND IN HIS LOVE, WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED. YES, LET THE BRIDE OF CHRIST FALL IN LOVE WITH HER BRIDEGROOM, AND COME UNDER THE HOLY SPIRIT'S DIVINE AUTHORITY.HIS LOVE IS HEALING FOR THE NATIONS,HIS COVENANT OF GOODNESS IS FOR THE HEALING OF THE NATIONS, COME OUT OF THE CHURCHES ALL OF THE FIVE FOLD MINISTRIES, AND INSTEAD OF GOING AROUND THE WORLD 10 TIMES, ABOUT GOING INTO THE CITIES IN THE UNITED STATES, AND BUILD DECENT,AFFORDABLE HOMES FOR THE PEOPLE RIGHT HERE, THAT NEED TO SEE OUR GOD'S COVENANT OF LOVE AND COVENANT OF GOODNESS, AND COVENANT OF BLESSINGS......... WHEN GOD CALLED ABRAHAM, HE SAID I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU THE FATHER OF MANY NATIONS, AND ALL, ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH WILL BE BLESS THROUGH YOU...... TELL WHAT DID GOD MEAN, WAS IT JUST SPIRITUALLY OR WAS IT SPRITUALLY AND NATURALLY?

JOHN 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" 23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

This devotion hit it right on the head for the season I am in. I too, am searching for an Accountable Partner. My prayers have been for God to send someone in my life who I can fellowship with and we can hold each other in the Word of God.

May God bless you in your search as I pray He blesses me in mine!
