We are living in unprecedented times as men.  In our communities, churches, and homes, we have an incredible opportunity to impact those that we lead, with whom we live and love in profound ways.  But the key to maximizing our potential and seeing change in our lives is to first see the change happen within ourselves.

For many of us this is going to require a complete turnaround.  Paradigms have to shift, our minds must be renewed and we have to walk into what I call one80™ living.

One80™ living for men looks like taking our rightful place in our families, in the marketplace, with our friends, and in our spheres of influence within the kingdom of God. But where do you begin?  Glad you asked!

The Bible says in Proverbs 17:24 "An intelligent person aims at wise actions, but a fool starts off in many directions."  For many of us, we were headed off in many directions.  But now it’s time that we turn around.  Take note of the word "aim.”  A man who aims has a goal, an objective, a target.  And you must have an aim in order to make a turnaround.

You've got to have a plan.  And that plan starts when you assume responsibility for your life in three areas:  your WAYS, your WORSHIP and your WITNESS.

One80™ turnaround in your WAYS:
“When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”  Proverbs 16:7.  Our ways represent our regular, habitual manners or mode of being or behaving.  God is saying that when our regular habits, manners, and conduct please Him, then we are on our way to turning our lives around.  So much so, He’ll make our enemies to be at peace with us.

That’s one80 living at its best.  This year, take responsibility for all of your ways and make sure your ways please God at all times. 

One80™ turnaround in your WORSHIP:
“Then David danced before the Lord with all his might… Michal Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart…So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord over Israel.  Therefore I will play music before the Lord.”  2 Samuel 6: 14a; 16b; 21.  King David worshipped God NO MATTER WHAT OTHERS SAID!

As men, when our worship is authentic, we will see the breakthrough and turnarounds we desire in our lives.  I’m not talking about your worship style…whether you’re quiet or demonstrative, that is totally irrelevant. What is most important is your authenticity in worship.

Worship is BY FAR one of the quickest ways to turn your life around.  Like David, thank God for what He has done for you so far.  Worship Him for Who He is and what He’s about to do in your life.  Then you will begin to experience one80™ living at its best.

One80™ turnaround in your WITNESS: 
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…”  Matthew 28:18 – 19a.  One80™ men don’t hide what the Lord is doing in their lives.  Their witness—how they represent Christ to others—demonstrates God’s work in their life.

When you are NOT ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and confess Christ before men, then you will experience God in a bigger and bolder way than ever before.

Men, one80™ living starts with assuming responsibility as a man, in your ways, your worship and your witness; and when you do, you can be sure that your best and brightest days are still ahead of you!
