Paula White Returns to Lead Ailing Megachurch
from The Christian Post

Charismatic preacher Paula White is stepping in as senior pastor of the Florida megachurch that she and her now ex-husband founded nearly two decades ago.

On Sunday, White was expected to officially mark the start of a new chapter in the history of Without Walls International Church, which once attracted 23,000 worshippers and was heralded as one of the nation’s fastest-growing congregations.

“It will be my first Sunday to officially preach and to minister to you as the mandate and the mantle that I’ve received for the great assignment for this city, for this ministry, and for our lives collectively as your new senior pastor,” White reported in an eBlast to the Tampa-based congregation.

Since her divorce from Bishop Randy White in 2007, White has been ministering in New York, Texas, and abroad, making only periodic visits to Without Walls.

The church, meanwhile, has shrunk drastically and found itself having faced foreclosure, with their bank demanding immediate repayment of a $12 million loan on the property last November.

Though the church and its lender, the Calif.-based Evangelical Christian Credit Union, later agreed to a modified loan agreement this past March, Bishop White, as recently as last month, reported that the church was in great need for a “financial blessing.”

“We’re at a very critical juncture in our life right now with the church where we must have financial blessing,” he said on June 23 in urging his congregation to donate.

“God is faithful, and He spoke to me at the beginning of this year and said that 2009 would be our greatest year. And isn’t it like the devil ... to cause confusion, to bring a discouragement just before our biggest breakthrough?” the 51-year-old preacher added.

In an interview with the St. Petersburg Times on Friday, White said he was stepping aside as senior pastor because of health concerns and that he has been in and out of the hospital for much of the last seven months.

"I have some serious health issues right now," the bishop said. "I've had six different doctors say that I had to take the stress, the pressure out of my life."

As a result, Bishop White called up his ex-wife about two months ago to inform her of his health situation and to ask her to consider returning to lead the congregation they once pastored together.

After much prayer and counsel, Paula White decided accept the mandate and mantle of senior pastor of Without Walls International Church and the entire ministry organization, according to Paula White Ministries.

“Pastor Paula is very excited about this wonderful assignment and opportunity from the Lord,” her ministry reported. “We know this is the divine plan of God and that great things are in store!”

As for Bishop White, the ailing minister said he is staying town and will still be connected to Without Walls – just in a different position.

“It’s not something that we’re losing. You’re actually gaining,” he told his congregation last week. “And we’re going to gain momentum as we go forward to build the Kingdom of God.”

On Sunday, Without Walls was expected to honor Bishop White “for the leadership and the legacy and richness that he has brought to Without Walls.”

“And we look forward to our future as God has big things for all of us,” Paula White added. “God has big things for us.”

Comments:

I am totally disgusted by some of the comments I have read on this subject. Paula White is an amazing woman of God, who God has anointed for a time such as this. Regardless of whether her marriage lasted a lifetime or a period of time, that has nothing to do with the purpose that God anointed her and her ex-husband for. God chose them to preach the Gospel. Whether you have a couple that are Ministers or just regular Christians they are still human beings with imperfections, yet despite their imperfections, they are made perfect through Christ Jesus. Whether married or divorced, Paula's decision to pick up the mantle and carry the torch shows that she is still willing to fulfill her commitment to God despite, her own person disappointments. Also, it is very difficult to keep a marriage together when the woman becomes more successful than the man, unless the man is extremely secure within himself. I think that you will see in time to come that Paula is truly a woman of God, anointed and appointed for a time such as this. To those haters out there who have condemned her for having a few material gifts for all of her hard work, I would just like to remind them, that when you "seek first the kingdom of God, all things will be added onto you."

Paula, I have had the pleasure of meeting you a few times in Toronto and I watched your show regularly.
I know that you are truly dedicated to preaching the gospel throughout the world and I will pray that God keeps you in good health and that he restores Randy to good health, so that he can continue to fight the good fight.

I cannot appreciate the negativity in many ot the comments left here. Pastor Paula is a JOINT-HEIR, just like us. Pastor Paula, you are awesome and amazing, just like our Father! God loves you, therefore, so do I.

Right is right and wrong is wrong. As Christians we are to constantly evaluate our lives according to Scripture. When we mess up, it is the "right" thing to make whatever adjustment is necessary to come into alignment with God's word. So many people are doing things out of convenience, and it has absolutely nothing to do with God's will for their life, it's being done out of emotion.

Wow...I just wish these megasuperstars (includes Bynum, Bryant and everybody else) would show some true repentance....this is disgusting...God is not the author of confusion. Why is it so hard to come clean and just do things right...not perfect, but right! (you know, there is a differnce, right means with a pure heart)....Lord help....

Will...for the most part Paula White is being supported in her decisions...but isn't just like judgmental Christians to turn the challenges in everyone's lives into something ugly. Ministers have challenges just like every other human being does and to shut their mouth just because of a challenge or growing experience is to lose a great voice for the Kingdom of God. Thank you Father for your grace and mercy...it sure is better than judgmental Christian's judgment and unmerciful attitudes. May God bless you Paula White and your exhusband for finding a way to continue to be a blessing....

excited for this move of God! may Gods will be done..he is continuing to use this vessel as he chooses, and she allows him to walk, talk & work thru her. This is a part of the fulfilment of the vision that god has given her, years qago- to speak in the last days, to help raise up the end times army...amen.. God is doing as he pleases-he foresaw this, as he sits outside of time. He is pleased, but, Reliigous Spirits will continue to judge & gossip, for, they dont live with motive to save souls, heal hearts, and serve-with pure, true & right motive..God is pleased with Paula..she is a voice, a prophetic voice, to help awaken the body of christ. To GOd be all the glory-as we get flesh outta tha way, we are able to be used to reach out & do the works of Jesus, and even greater.amen...amny are sleeping, and many only walk in religious spirit, which blinds them to the times..but, not Paula..god has blessed her with this promotion-its of the LORD-amen

I wonder why so many people are passing judgement. Only God can judge. The body of Christ has a lot of growing to do. I am praying for Paula White and her family.
God Bless!!!

I love it. I'm just so proud to see the People of GOD come together in times of trouble and do the Right Thing. God Bless you Always, Pastor Paula...

I believe the body of Christ simply needs to pray for those in leadership positions and pray in the Spirit. No need to judge because what is not of God will not last. Just pray and let God have His way. I have a tough enough journey to walk. I stopped trying to do God's job a long time ago.

Something wrong with this picture but I do know that they need our prayers. The problem I am having is that they are the shepards. the same preachers that said that God will blessed you hundred fold, healing your sickness and health, but don't believe that God can heal their marriage. God honor marriage. if you divorce, God is disappointed.

When she was going thru her divorce, she should have stepped down from her ministry and get her life "in order"...instead it was such a cash cow that she could not do that because of her exorbitant lifestyle and money needs......why do pastors who do these things just keep on going on like nothing had happened.I went to a church where a pastor went thru a painful divorce and went up in front of the congregation with the elders of the church and announced what was happening and stepped down....that is the right way to do this...now Paula's church has lost many congregants and is hurting for money......I will pray for her !!!

This is a another example of a prosperity ministry. They never last. In the end they either go bankrupt or the pastors are caught in some kind of drama. Paula is about glamour and money. People in that town are finally waking up and seeing what that ministry really is, all about the dollar.

We send up prayer for both pastor. We thank God for Paula faithfulness and her elevation in the ministry. Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and HE shall strengthen your heart. Wait I say on the Lord.

i see the hand of God. He knew this was a part of his plan. i pray for Randy's health, and i know Paula is able to do this, for god has shifted her into position, set her to be a prophtess, and she lets " I AM " walk thru her- i have faith in God-who is also in her. amen. I see Romans 8:28..and the $$ issue will clear- this was gods plan. he will propsper his servants- she serves god in ministry- this that do so & with right motives are blessed.luv her.happy 4 her. She is truly a vessel for God, she is a voice, God told her she would be a part of raising up an end time army. 2009 is the year of delivery for those who carry a god given vision & have been prepared.she has been prepared 4 this.

it is soooo sad that an agreement was made strictly for business purposes so it seems. On top of all that it seems as if the deal was made with the condition of Pastor Paula having total and complete control! WOW! Not saying that she is not capable, just seems that was the deal. IM PRAYING FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST!

BRETHREN, IF any person is overtaken in misconduct or sin of any sort, you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the Spirit] should set him right and restore and reinstate him, without any sense of superiority and with all gentleness, keeping an attentive eye on yourself, lest you should be tempted also. Galatians 6:1 (AMP)

If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. 1 John 1:9 (AMP)

He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone....John 8:7 (KJV)

I thank God, God is love..

We are all excited and quite eager to give our opinions about Bishop Randy & Rev. Paula White's decisions over time; my question is 'would we do better'?
The assurance we have is that they are children of God who are led by His Spirit and regardless of what choices they have made in the past, 'all things will work together for good'.
Please let's all pray for them and work that God has put into their custody.
I especially pray that God's will be done in their lives and ministry and His kingdom will come to manifestation through the ministry of Bishop Randy & Rev. Paula White.

Much grace...

I am glad to see that Bishop and Pastor White are willing to come together again to work in building the ministry that God gave them along time ago. If its God it will stand.Ps.127:1 Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Were living in a time where the church is robbing the members, of their finances, forgetting that a tithe unto God is not just money but its time and talent. Malachi 3:8a ask the question will a man rob God? yet ye have robbed me. And now the congregation is asking the same question of the church. Will a man or woman of God rob me?

We as the children of the most High God must get back to the basic of our salvation which is the great commission Matt.28:18-20 we should be about our fathers business, and that's about soul winning, not the counting of the saints to see how much money can possibly be in their pockets. So the estimation of the paying of the preachers lavish life styles can continue while the members still have to pray how will they feed their families, because weekly its expected to give an above and beyond seed which just amounts to the fact that the preacher is unwill to downsize, because it will not be God. They refuse to ride in a Chrysler 300, because they have already been seen in that Bentley.

Its time for the real church to stand and if its Gods will for that building to stand than it will however, we must remember that as Pastor's White must remember that wee are the church, the people and its going to be a great time of repentance for how Gods money is handle.

Something very disappointing and desturbing to read of a "faith - sow and harvest" church in such dire financial trouble. What Paula and her ex husband taught other believers "sow into our ministry and you wil recieve ten and hundred fold back, just does'nt seem to work for them. Let the leaders (Paula and Randy) show by example how to get the assembly out of debt ... I am convinced that the sheep will be willing to follow the shepherds and sow.

Is it possible that the sheep has been sheared to the bone?

This just does not seem right. Something just does not sit right. Prayer is needed for the whole corporate body of Christ. Things happening in churches all across America is very, very discerning.

I wonder if any of the disciples would recognize the "Church" as it's being spoken about in this article? What happened to men and women who profess Jesus as their Savior actually living out what the Word of God says? When did "new" revelations of God "speaking" to someone contradict His own Word? Where are the men and women who read the Word and live by the Word of God, instead of this twisted version of a ministry. When did Romans 12:1-2 stop being a command?

It's sad that they could only re-unite for financial reasons as the write-up appears to indicate. It would be nice to see the fruit of Godly leadership and character. Worst yet is a group of people being dragged along because they refuse to properly execute scripture.

1 Corinthians 11
1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

When we learn Christ then we will put an end to following leaders who do not follow Christ. God bless hungry sheep.

Only God can make something good come out of this, it is the devils job to abort the plan & work of god in the lives of these high profile ministers like Bishop Weeks and Juanita Bynum. That's why we must know our rolls as ministers and work and stay in the capacity that we have been called. Ephesians 4:1-3 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3. Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Congratulation Pastor Paula I am so glad that the Lord led you to accept Bishops offer only God can do such things. I stand in prayer of agreement with you all for total healing and healing for the church as well. As always what the enemy meant for our bad God turns it around for our good. Apostle Paul declared even in my chains it furthered the gospel, as long as the Kingdom is preached it doesn't matter who the preacher is, Amen! may our Daddy keep on doing it just like that!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM. IM A LIL CONCERNED ABOUT BISHOP RANDY WHITE. It's obvious Paula carried alot of weight in that church. Perhaps they can resolve their issues and be re-united. Time will tell. It is quite odd that a divorced couple can pastor a church. We shall see.

Can some true man or woman of God please tell me what is going on here? So, is it OK to divorce your husband, leave town for 2 years, then have your ex-husband call you up and hand over his church to you and you accept if you are ex-husband and ex-wife? What am I missing? It just duddn make any sense to me. Looks to me like they are still in love? Now that "momma is back" as Bishop Randy exhuberantly said Sunday morning, does that mean she is back with him, or just back to W W I C? Sure would be nice if they were indeed reconciled to each other, after all the church's motto is that of "evangelism and restoration". I sure ain't gonna cast any stones 'cause I ain't perfect, I just want someone to give me some facts here. Time will tell, won't it, if this is of God or man. I pray it is of God and that W W I C's and Bishop Randy and Pastor Paula's best days are indeed ahead of them. They are such wonderful people.

Given all of the substantiated stories of rampant opportunism, heresy, greed, blasphemy and gross financial abuse, there is nothing to celebrate w/Paul White returning to the "pulpit." Her returning to Without Walls was strictly a financially expedient move by her and Randy White b/c their financial cash cow was suffering.

This is has nothing to to w/God other than it demonstrating itself as a personified example of a modern-day babylonian "church" that is only worthy of complete and total destruction. Any person continuing his/her affiliation with this organization gets exaclty what s/he deserves and anyone "praising" this activity is clearly ignorant of scripture.
