President Obama: I Pray All the Time Now
from The Christian Post

President Obama says he starts his day with a devotional that the director of his Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships initiative, Pentecostal pastor Joshua DuBois, sends to his BlackBerry each day.

And though he was in the habit of praying every night before going to bed, Obama says since becoming president, he prays “all the time now.”

“I've got a lot of stuff on my plate and I need guidance all the time,” he told ABC News' Terry Moran in an interview for “Nightline.”

“I think that every president who’s had [this job] is constantly humbled by the degree to which there are a lot of issues out there and the notion that one person alone can solve all these problems I think you're cured of that illusion very quickly,” Obama added. “This is something where you just hope that you are aligning your work with His purposes and that you're attuned to the needs of the people you're there to serve.”

Prior to winning the presidency, Obama had informed the public that Christ “is a source of strength and sustenance on a daily basis” for him.

“I know that I don’t walk alone, and I know that if I can get myself out of the way, that I can maybe carry out in some small way what He intends,” he said during his appearance last August at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif.

Though the Obamas are still without a home church, the president reiterated Thursday that he and his family have been attending services at Camp David’s nondenominational Evergreen Chapel, which insiders say could provide a robust worship community for the president despite not being a membership congregation.

As he has in past interviews, Obama said Thursday that his team is “still trying to figure out how to move this big apparatus called the presidency without being hugely disruptive to congregations.”

“How do we time that, how do we think about that? That's something we're still sorting out,” he confessed.

The Obamas have been without a home church since withdrawing their membership last May from Trinity United Church of Christ after controversy arose over sermons that his long-time pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, had preached in 2001 and 2003.

People of this world, people of God shall we not judge of anything either be black or white (Matthew 7:1, 2-5). To president Obama I glad he prays and may the Lord of the heavens and earth help him in all he does. For if their are some people or someone who is against Obama I wish them a long life so that they see Obama's success. And if God be for us what or who can be against (Romans 8)...as children of the most high God together and those who stumble against let them stumble. May the peace of God be with President Obama....in Jesus' name Amen.

To scoo you sound pretty racist yourself. I attend an non demoninational church and nas attend a black church in the past and we do not put jesus Christ as second. You really need to get your facts right. You insulted people of faith in the black church, and you really need to study your bible more and learn how to love. I can't even believe your a Christian.

Proof Obama is not a Christian. Read this link. He says he doesn't know where he's going when he dies and he believes there are many paths to God - translation he doesn't accept Jesus' death on the cross.

I think it's wrong that black Christians threw out all Biblical principles and voted for Obama just because he's black. I was attending a black church, but became wary of black churches because it disgusted me how they worshipped him as the Second Jesus. It was sickening. The man is EVIL, period. Alan Keyes would have been the right choice as a black president, not Obama. He is a liar from Satan himself.

HAHAHAHHA

Obama is in NO way a Christian ...in fact he is a Muslim.

All you black Christians who voted for him as are stupid as he is.

If he was a godly man, he would be following godly principles instead of trying to lead us into a socialist fascist govt. that is from the pit of hell.

He might just turn out to be the antichrist.

I voted for Mr. Obama, but I didn't see that he had the political experience to handle the work load that would be in front of him. However, he did have the grass roots experience and community building experience, and that is where leadership grows and changes can be made.

Therefore, I voted for him because I felt that he more than any other candidate truly knew where the people were coming from. I have prayed ever since that God would give him the knowledge to trust him to lead him, so that he could make up the difference for his shortcomings and lackings. God can use anybody and make them qualified in the end.

Still, when Mr. Obama was chosen, I knew that it was for a reason. It was to show the world that God is in control despite the odds. Also, it showed that anyone can do anything with God's help and protection. It is not a race thing it is a spiritual thing. We as a nation must lift Mr. Obama up and trust God to work through him. However, Mr. Obama is human and can and will not always get it right, but even then God will take care of those who believe in his name! Amen.

I do agree it is very hard to be a Christian in the world but even harder if you are a Black man and the President of the United States, I too hold him an his family up before the King of King every morning, but President Obama knows that all things work together for his good, he is representing a Nation which is defined by the cultral which we live in, Only God promoted him into that postion, only God will keep him an lead him and Guide him, as long as he acknowlege God in all his ways. Our Lord put him there, Our lord will be gloryfied out of his life if he trust in him, yes let us all pray for him and his cabnet, and those that work under him for divine guidance and direction. we know that God is a Great and Mighty God.

I have been praying for the Obama family and concerning their church home for some time now. My prayer is that they will be led to make their church home where the undiluted word of God is taught. Also that God will surround them with godly people that will build them up and encourage strong christian values.

I can't imagine how challenging it must be to be the first black president, a Christian, seeking ways to help all people of all types. Meeting people from all over the world and than coming home and do it all over again. The issues in this world, we live in, has become a place where there are challenges daily to live, to work and just to be you. President Obama, needs all of us to pray for his well being. This man has taken on a job that I believe is one of the hardest in the world. I know he can't do this alone. If he makes a commit it is turned around and used against him. If he states an opinion it is taken out of context. This man needs all of us to pray for him, his family and all who works with him and for him. I will assure you I will do this everyday!

Although I live in New Jersey, he is close to Spirit of Faith ministry with Mike & Dee Dee Freeman. I listen to them on the internet everyday and if I lived in Washington that would be my home church. Mike is bold, secure and a powerful man of God that I know would not jeopardize the trust of God for anything or anybody. He lives the word of God. If they are really seeking a home church this is one they should consider.
