Ministry Description
To God be the glory! It’s called the City of David! (Named after the birthplace of our Lord) Built to be a refuge for the hurting and lost, a center for ministry, a house of prayer, all in fulfillment of the vision that God gave to Bishop David Ellis and the GGT Family. The magnificent church complex that stands as the largest in Detroit, MI. Who but God could do such a thing? The new 35-million dollar church, banquet hall and conference center stands as the centerpiece of the 19-acre expanse. Ellis Manor Apartments for Seniors, an 89-unit independent living apartment community, also sits on the site. It was Bishop David Ellis who first saw the potential of this northwest Detroit property. He purchased the property, but passed away in 1996. Yet, he had shared the vision with his son, Charles Ellis, who would succeed him as Pastor and lead the congregation in completing the project.
The Vision Has Come To Pass! Our church is moving to new heights in ministry. The GGT Banquet Hall and Conference Center is rapidly becoming the preferred site for church conferences, seminars, banquets and major gatherings. And…all we can say is “To God be the glory for the things He has done!”
