Ministry Description

The Mount Moriah AME Church was organized by Rev. Melvin D. Brown, in February of 1959.  In February 1986 Mt. Moriah received their fourth and present pastor of 21 years, Rev. Robert R. Lowe.  Under his leadership in 1991 a two million dollar edifice was erected, three Sunday morning services and the membership has grown from a few members in a house to over 4,000. The ministry has expanded from a Sunday morning church to a holistic ministry open everyday of the week with fifty ministries empowering the lives of men, women, singles, married couples, young adults, and children, fulfilling our mission, Building Believers to Build the Body. Mount Moriah has started construction on a brand new ten million dollar edifice and family life center. The 50,000 square feet multi-media state-of-the-art facility has five levels including a 1,500 seat sanctuary and a five story glass atrium connecting the new building with our present facility which will be utilized as our youth church, called the Promise House. We look forward to the completion of our new edifice in the early part of 2008!
