Pastor James R. Wright Jr.
Pastor James R. Wright, Jr., started the Maranatha Fellowship under the direction of the Lord. He has served in the ministry since 1966 and pastored three congregations before starting Maranatha Fellowship. He attended West Virginia State College and Gulf Coast Bible College in Houston, Texas, where he received his B.A. in Bible. He also holds an M.A. Degree from the Universal Bible Institute in Alamo, Texas. Pastor Wright went on to receive his Doctorate of Ministry from Lake Charles Bible College in Louisiana. While attending Gulf Coast Bible College, Pastor Wright helped start a church that ministered to drug addicts and runaways. He preaches the old-time gospel and challenges his congregation to live the gospel in a practical way. Pastor Wright and his wife, Virginia, have three children: James, the oldest, married to Summer; Jason, married to Amy; and Jennifer, married to Shane Higginbotham. They also have 7 grandchildren.
