Bishop Mark Tolbert

Mark C. Tolbert, Teacher, Preacher, Entrepreneur.  Mark was born the 5th child to Lee A. and Lorene Tolbert. Mark Tolbert is a native of Kansas City, Missouri, Graduate of Central High School, attended Penn Valley Community College and received his DD from Western Baptist Bible College. In 1989, Mark Tolbert became Senior Pastor of Christ Temple Church, and was elevated to the status of Suffragan Bishop in 1995.  Bishop Tolbert is the former 2 term President of the Concerned Clergy Coalition of Greater Kansas City (an ecumenical group comprising 18 Denominations and over 300 Pastors), Chairman of Sparrow Community Development Corporation, Board Member of the Friends of Sacred Structures, Board Chairman and Director o the Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy, Chairman of the Northwestern District Council of Churches, former 2 term Treasurer of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, serves on the PIAC commission of greater Kansas City, and the United Way Board, the Missouri Charter School board and many other boards and commissions locally and nationally. In August of 2009, Bishop Mark Tolbert was elevated to the Pentecostal Assembly of the World official Bishop Board.  He has currently been assigned as Diocesan to the Canadian District Council. Bishop Tolbert’s goal for his recently new Canadian District is to “Stir up the name of Jesus and to meet them where they are now,” and to also “Develop strategies for church growth and to develop more churches throughout Canada.”
