Bishop Horace E Smith M.D.
Bishop Horace E. Smith, M.D. became pastor of the Apostolic Faith Church in March 1980, and was elevated to the office of Bishop in August, 1997. In July 2004, at the Annual Convention of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., he was elected Presiding Bishop of this organization. Dr. Smith is director of the Comprehensive Sickle Cell/Thalassemia Program at Children’s Memorial Hospital. He is recognized world-wide as an outstanding pediatrician in his field, specializing in hematology/oncology for critically ill children. He is married to Susan Davenport Smith and they have three daughters, Lauren Elrod, Rachel Horton and Emily Green.
