    SHARING AND REFLECTING. . . .

Unless we open up ourselves and reveal to others even our hurts and our fears, all that we’d end up building are superficial relationships. These relationships rob us of our opportunity to be really happy because they only leave us empty in the end, unable to fill our loneliness and our need to be truly loved from the very core of who we are.

We need people who can be there for us even when we’re not okay. We need those who can see our imperfections and still believe in the gift of our being. We need to be allowed to be weak, to make some mistakes, and to stumble as we persevere in striving to reach for our full potential. We need those who can be strong enough to see us fall, who can trust us enough that we will get up and rise again, wiser and stronger for all the trials that we’ve been through.

Others may have already failed us in the past, but may this not deter us from trusting again the right people who are ready to support us, to be intimate with us, and to love us for who we really are.

IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY
At times it’s okay not to be okay,
Come here and cry your tears away,
    There’s someone who understands.
The world’s not always a safe place to be,
    and this life’s not always kind;
    At times you’d fall,
    At times you’d cry,
    At times you’d need
    a helping hand.
Forget your troubles for a while,
    and let your mind be still;
    Lay down your burdens,
    Lay down your cares,
    Cast out your worries,
    and your fears.
It’s okay though you’ve made some mistakes,
    that’s what forgiveness is for;
It’s okay if you’re not perfect yet,
    for you are still loved.
You can lay down your guard,
You can breathe out in relief,
You can rest, you can hide,
    You can be weak,
    No one will judge you,
No one will cast you away.
    Weep with all your heart,
Cry with all of your tears,
    There’s someone near,
    There’s someone who understands.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I speak your blessing over this household. Let this home be an oasis of peace for this family. Let there be shelter here from the wickedness of this world. I pray that your presence would overshadow those who live here, and if there is any wicked thing happening behind these doors, I pray that by Your Spirit, You would cut it off.

I know that You aren’t willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance through Your Son Jesus. Your Word tells us that the God of this age has blinded the minds of those who are perishing, to prevent them from seeing the light of the Gospel, so I ask You Lord to remove those blinders so they would see the Light of Your Son Jesus. Reveal Yourself to this family, in Jesus? Name, amen.

?But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.?

Have you ever been the undeserved target of someone with pent up anger and bitterness against you. Where did Saul get the idea David was against him? Was it something David did, or rather something Saul perceived? Was Saul jealous of David? Was a prideful envy squelching a once loving relationship?

We live in a fallen world where we are surrounded by injustices of all kinds and we can selfishly justify our actions. It is always a challenge when we build close relationships with others; people can neither love us enough nor fill our needs. Life is give and take, and Jesus taught us to surrender to love and to be merciful and kind to those who despitefully use us. When wronged we might say ?I don?t deserve being treated this way,? but Jesus didn?t deserve to die on a cross either. We must constantly surrender our soulish needs for the sake of love.

A kind old man took care of his sickly wife for over sixty-five years; in their life together they had endured many difficult circumstances, including the loss of their teenage son. In their old age, neither the difficulties nor the hardships seemed to be important. In the old man?s confused world, it was her loving arms caressing him that he remembered; it was her love that bought sweet comfort silencing his anxieties. It was the language of love that communicated into the dementia when words no longer could. Love is the most powerful force on the planet and can break every barrier.

Love came to earth and lived amongst us and became man. Pure love was both the initiator and fulfillment of the perfect redemptive plan to restore what had been lost. Love was flesh and blood without spot or blemish. Love did not find equality with God something to be grasped. Love did nothing apart from His Father?s will. Love was unconditional and demonstrated. Love paid the price for all sins. Love was not boastful or proud Love was despised and rejected.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Love will not die. Love always rejoices in the truth. Love never fails. Love bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love is a choice. Love wins. Love attracts and dwells in the light. Love walks in righteousness. God is love and Love never fails.

You are so loved - go then and love others.

1 Then the angel showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel?s right hand, making accusations against Joshua. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, ?I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.?

Joshua?s clothing was filthy as he stood there before the angel. So the angel said to the others standing there, ?Take off his filthy clothes.? And turning to Joshua he said, ?See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes.?

Then I said, ?They should also place a clean turban on his head.? So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the Lord stood by. Zechariah 3:1-5

The enemy constantly accuses us, we hear his false accusations in our head and too often believe the lies. The Lord said to Satan, ?I have rejected your accusations. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and way too often, when our past is thrown in our face, it induces fear and a twisted truth. A failure may masquerade as an evil when in fact it may be the very means God uses to clearly pinpoint the need for a savior. A savior who will take away the old filthy rags and give you a fine new garment.

For an unbeliever, this is good news, but for those who believe, it is a call to get rid of the old and put on the new. We all, at some point, were hopelessly lost and unable to recognized the depth at which we were deceived. We lived for self-satisfactions and thought ourselves fully capable of controlling our destinies. Too many of us barely escaped and if it had not been for Christ, we would have surely died. Remembering those days is one thing, but lingering in them is another; it is easier to do what you have always done rather then live in the new. The old is familiar and you know the ins and outs, but the new is unknown and requires faith. Everything you have ever done is stored in your mind and it is difficult when the world constantly contradicts your kingdom identity to resist your mind and hold fast to the truth.

I often ponder why Christ saved me? I never want to go back to that old life; the clothes I wore may have been beautiful in my eyes, but in God’s eyes were worn, ripped, burned, faded, too small and smelled like mothballs. Why would I ever want to wear them again? I love the new clothes; they are beautiful and clean; no rips, no tears, every part was hand designed and made to fit.

Be calm, you are not alone.

It is human nature to be afraid of being alone, and sometimes in our most troubled times we feel deserted by our family and closest friends. It is at times like these that we most need the companionship and love of those close to us. Perhaps we are carrying burdens that we don’t wish to discuss with someone else, or maybe we don’t wish to offload our own troubles and sorrows on someone else.

Here’s the thing though. God will NEVER leave you alone. He has promised to be always with us, and when we are at our lowest point, He picks us up and carries us. Never fear, you are always close to the companionship and love of God, no matter who you are or what you have done. Do not be afraid to ask God to help you. Do not be afraid to ask God to stand by you. Kneel before Him and feel His presence in your darkest times.

Be calm, you are not alone.

May God bless and strengthen you.

    You are loved!

Beyond any measurement, beyond any human capacity, God LOVES you.  Whatever your inner troubles, whatever your sin, you remain His child, and you are LOVED.  When you are in pain, God is in pain, when you are in tears, God cries for you.  He has shown this in the sacrificing of His own son, Jesus, who in his pain and suffering called out to his father, “Lord, if it is your will, take this cup of suffering away from me”.  Despite this, God still led His son to the cross, to be scourged and killed for you and I, so that we can be released from our own sin.  God did this for US, in His great love for us, for you and I, and Jesus for the same reasons submitted himself to the will of his Father.

If you are a parent yourself you will know the incredible capacity for love we have for our children.  How much greater then is God’s love for you?

    Never despair, you are loved!

    Phil 2:1

    “His love comforts you”

Dear God, I confess that I do not always love others as I
should. I ask you to make me more like Jesus in my love for others.
I am thankful for the presence of the Holy Spirit to help me see
those whom I need to show your love and to empower me to love them
when it is difficult. In Jesus’ name I pray for this grace. Amen.

Outside the romantic arena, unconditional love is the way God expects us to love others. How can you love someone unconditionally that you don’t even know? Think about the unconditional love God showed when He gave His only Son on a cross 2000 years ago for the sins of this world. For the sins of everyone, including those who mocked and cursed Him. That is the true test of unconditional love. Loving someone who loves you is easy. Can you love, unconditionally love, someone who has been mean to you, done bad things to you, caused you pain and heartache? God did. How do you think God feels about those who defy Him, sin against Him, work against Him, hate Him? These are the people that He gave His Son for. DESPITE ALL THEY DO, GOD STILL LOVES THEM…UNCONDITIONALLY!!!

I pray, today, that you will think of someone this Valentine’s Day who you have had problems with in your life. I want you to get on your knees tonight before you go to bed and pray for that person. Pray for them, and ask God to give you unconditional love for that person. The Bible tells us, “Love our enemies.” Again, that is God’s kind of love, unconditional love. You will not even begin to know the feeling of joy and peace as you pray for that person who hurt you. The blessings you will know as you love that person unconditionally. God loved you unconditionally even though you were a sinner. How can we do any less? Make today a special day as you pray for that person in your life who has harmed you in some way, and in the strength that God gives you, love that person…UNCONDITIONALLY.
    Happy Valentine Day to All!

Heavenly Father, I turn myself over to You for healing.  My heart carries past hurts and sadness that I can deal with but please don’t allow my heart to harbor bitterness that will hurt my ability to be happy and not allow me to remain close to You.  Amen.

3 “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.” Mark 4:3-8 [Jesus is speaking]

When we live the Gospel, meaning: when we learn to forgive and love others, when we have a relationship with Jesus and apply kindness, understanding, empathy, love and compassion to our everyday being. When we tell others about what we have found in Jesus…….WE ARE SOWING SEED. We must always sow seed and pray for good soil as we go!

Jesus is telling this parable to encourage us in life so that we understand that as “sowers” of the Gospel message and life…..we will not be discouraged that not all people will accept the message the same way….but in order for the seed (message) to grow, flourish, multiply and bear fruit……..we must sow it. It is simply important for us to understand that we must faithfully sow the seed. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t always see results.

SOME SEED WILL FALL ALONG THE PATH: The path is where the ground has become hard from so many people trampling on it and the seed can’t grow. Some people we share our lives and the Gospel with simply will harden their hearts to the truth in life of who Jesus is.

SOME SEED WILL FALL IN ROCKY PLACES: Rocky places are places where there are pockets of moisture, the seed sprouts quickly but the sun quickly dries up the moisture and the seed withers. Some people we share our lives and the Gospel with will listen to the message and enthusiastically “grow”….but the soil is too shallow and they will soon wither in their faith.

SOME SEED WILL FALL AMONG THORNS: When seed falls among thorns, the thorns take away the nourishment need for the seed to grow and crowd out the seed, choking the life out of it. Some people we share our lives and the Gospel with will be so surrounded by those who refute Jesus and the true way of living that they will crowd out the message, twist and distort the truth and suck the life out of those around them. Thorns are those that don’t practice forgiveness, those who encourage others to lie, cheat and steal, the fair weather party friends that say “you only live once” and encourage others to do the wrong things.

SOME SEED WILL FALL ON GOOD SOIL: Seed that lands on good soil will not only grow healthy, but it will multiply. This seed will not only grow to maturity but will bear much fruit.

Productivity is in God’s hands…..live a real life in Jesus, forgiving others, mourning the sin in your life, loving people, serving people, loving God, serving God, applying the wisdom of God, indeed, the wisdom of Jesus in your life. Do this and you are planting seeds in people’s lives that God can take and grow to maturity so that they too will bear the fruit of love in their life. We simply just need to trust God and live the Gospel message.

When faced with unreasonable and unmerited prejudice, there is only one place to find hope and to remember, “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? (Psalm 73,vv. 23-25). We can have confidence that in God’s presence and guidance no matter what our circumstances or difficulties we face.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. (Revelation 21:4 NKJV)”

Someday God will wipe away your tears. The same hands that stretched the heavens will touch your cheeks. The same hands that formed the mountains will caress your face. The same hands that curled in agony as the Roman spike cut through will someday cup your face and brush away your tears. Forever.

How do I do my part in this battle? What is my job? My job is to believe (Jn. 6:29). My work is to surrender fully to the Lord and to serve and follow Him wholeheartedly. What He wants from me is a heart fully devoted to Him. He wants me to give Him all of me. Some enemies are defeated quickly. Some take longer. I must continue to believe – to persevere in my faith. My faith in the Lord is what gives me strength for each step and what unleashes His power (Matt. 8:13 & 9:29). The Lord is looking - His eyes are constantly roaming the earth, searching for those who love Him and whose hearts are turned toward Him. He wants to show Himself strong on their behalf – on MY behalf and yours (2 Chron. 16:9)!! One of the major ways He is being revealed is by His mighty hand in our lives. When people see what He is doing and how He delivers us and changes us, they will want to come to Him.
Holy Father, thank you! Thank you for who you are! You are perfect, loving, good, wise, faithful, full of grace, mercy and compassion. Thank you for helping me and moving me forward in you! Thank you for giving me the victory in you and through you, Jesus! I claim it! I believe it! I trust you. I am willing to do whatever it takes to come into my inheritance and to be wholly yours! You are my Love and my Life. My hope is in you! Help me to repent and turn from all areas of sin in my life. Reveal them to me. Convict me, Holy Spirit, and give me a repentant heart. Help me to seek your forgiveness each day and be washed by you, so that my heart is pure and perfect toward you. Help me not to harbor any unforgiveness or hatred in my heart but only love and forgiveness. Make me a holy vessel full of your love – full of YOU, Jesus!! You in me is what will defeat the enemy. Help me to come away with you each day – to sit with you in prayer, letting you do your good work. Holy Spirit teach me as I study your Word. Let it live and be active in me, cutting out things not of you. Mold and shape me. Conform me to your image, Jesus. You are who I want to look like – who I want others to see! Use my life for your purpose. Help me to live transparently, so others can see you – your love and power. It’s all about you, Jesus! We all need you so desperately! Come, Jesus! Come deeper into my heart. Take up every space. Reign over me. I love you! I trust you. Have your way in me. Protect me from evil. Drive out all the enemies in the land! Give me my daily bread. You know what I need. Let your kingdom come and your will be done all over the earth. Come into every heart!! In your holy name – Amen.
