    Dear Jesus,

I come to you now with a broken heart and a weary spirit. I dont know how I can carry on each day knowing that a part of me had already gone, never ever to return. Can I ever be complete again? Can I ever smile again at the coming of a new day? Day after day I miss him more and more. Day after day my longing grows but it can never be fulfilled. How can I possibly live my life again? How do I overcome this feeling that I am now all alone and I shall always be alone or the rest of my life? How do I let go? The places we’ve been to, the celebrations we had together, they will never be the same. The emptiness in my heart is so big I can no longer breathe sometimes.
Help me O God! The pain of separation seems more painful to me than death itself. I don’t know how much longer I can carry on. Help me carry on this day Lord. Help me to let go, I pray. Though I may not forget, help me to remember how you have always carried me through. Though the pain may not yet go away, assist me in carrying this cross with hope in my heart.
Let me not forget the people who love me and assist me in this hour of need. May I find strength in them, consolation in the generosity of their hearts. And whenever I’m afraid, let there always be a hand to hold on to, a smile to brighten up my path. Send down your angels Lord and may I recognize your hand upon your every gift and blessing. Give me something to do that I may not feel useless, yet teach me also to rest knowing all will be well after the long dark night.
You are my Rock and my Provider, Savior and Defender, Friend and Lover who will never ever let me down. You will lead me through this day. You will fill my every hour with peace, my every moment with thoughts of your love. I cannot bear the burdens of tomorrow but I will offer you all that I have today. Today is yours O God. This moment is yours. Embrace me and take my hand. I am in your heart. I am safe. I am loved.

    Amen

Oh Lord, we desire to be as willing to forgive as You are. And here’s a simple poem . . .
    What We Do
    Jesus knew they didn’t know
    Who He really was
    even when they nailed Him
    there upon that cross,
and each time we hurt someone
    do we realize the cost,
that the road to forgiveness is purely paved
with the blood that Jesus lost?

Dear God, please help me heal
From grief, loss and the pain of love gone wrong.
Let me leave deep heartache it in my past.
And be whole and happy again.

In my fear of never finding true love
I have been needy and overly-anxious,
Desperate and too willing to settle.
Please calm the need in me that leads to unwise choices.
Fill the emptiness in my heart that makes me crave unhealthy love.

Restore my faith in love and relationships
And grant me the ability to love myself fully.
And to feel lovable and wanted from within.
Let the healing process must begin inside my heart.

    Amen.

Father, when I am angry You tell me to stay above the fray and sin not.  There are times when it is appropriate to be angry such as when I see a person harming another individual; when I have been lied to; or when I have been unfairly accused. These circumstances along with many others stir up strong emotions with me and often require a response to the matter. Keep me prayerful as I am quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. May I respond as Jesus did to His many accusers, though innocent, He spoke not a word in His defense.  And may I be careful not to keep a scoreboard of others offenses. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus who forgives me and does not count my sins against me, but rather took them upon Himself.  Amen.

I really don’t have the answer as to why God allows us to hurt in such extreme ways, but I do know that most of the pain is caused by other people, not by God. The Creator of All Things wouldn’t go through all the trouble of equipping you with a heart that beats like a metronome, stereophonic ears, and even decorative touches like eyebrows, then put you through a gauntlet of pain and pathos just for kicks.
Re-hashing painful events only keeps the wounds open and that closure is a myth. Some things may just have to be locked away so they don’t poison us with their daily presence in our minds. If even talking about it makes you feel pain, I say, stop talking about it. Protect yourself from the past with the faith and prayer. Do what you can to move forward so you’re not stuck in the quicksand of the past, and life will get better over time.

I am encouraged today because God is working behind the scenes on my behalf. Delight myself in Him — find joy in serving Him and make my heart moldable in His hands. I am not settling for mediocrity because God knows what’s in me, and His plan is to finish the work He began in me!

Help me stay in the present tense today.
Keep the past where it belongs.
Even the future can be a stumbling block
if it slows me down now.
There’s only so much room in my life
for what I need to carry.
If the world is an oyster
and inside it is a pearl,
    open it for me.
    Polish this day,
shine it up so I see it for the gift it is.
Allow me to be okay, right where I am,
even as I strive to be better.
Just once, filter out the static of what was
so I can be in this moment.

“As for me, I said in my alarm, ‘I am cut off from before Your eyes.’ Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to You.” - Psalm 31:22

Rejection is a part of life. We all face it, whether trying out for a team and being cut, being fired, or laid off. Toughest of all may be rejection in the family through a divorce, a child feeling rejected by a parent, or one sibling rejecting another, etc.

Remember, God’s power is sufficient for you to overcome rejection. How?

    1. You have to trust Him completely to bring good out of the worst rejection.

    2. You have to confess to God any feelings of resentment, bitterness, or anger and ask God to forgive you. Remember, “Bitterness is the poison we swallow while hoping the other person dies.”

    3. You have to ask God to give you the power to forgive the person who rejected you, and for the strength to move on.

Jesus is our ultimate example for dealing with rejection. He chose to forgive on the cross, and He gives us the power to do the same when others reject us.

“Forget the former things,” the Lord told Isaiah. “Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” You, my friend, are that “new thing!” If those around you do not recognize you today it is because they do not realize who you are now; they are seeing the old thing of years ago. They perceive only what they saw then, nothing more and nothing less. What do you think would happen, for example, if you suddenly went back to the same people who hurt you? Would they welcome you back? Probably not. They cannot forget the past because they are living in it. Why, then, would you want to keep looking at dark memories of what is done and over?

You and I are made for today, not yesterday. Our future depends on the present, and nothing is more important than what we do right now. This moment is the perfect time to start moving forward again and stop letting guilt stop us. “He whom the Son sets free, is free indeed.” There is no reason for anything (or anyone) to hold us back. No person on earth can keep us captive because we have been released from bondage. Get rid of those old pictures of you being beaten and bruised. The only one you need to keep is that of Jesus on the cross.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I ask You to please forgive for me for seeking revenge on those who have injured me. I repent today of all unforgiveness. I want to love others the way You love me. I want to thank You for loving me even when I am so unlovable. Please empower me by Your Holy Spirit to love my enemies as I love my neighbor and to pray for those who bully, oppress, harass, persecute and discriminate against me. Help me to forgive those who have hurt me. I purpose in my heart today to love in such a way that pleases and honors You. I want others to see Your unconditional love at work in my relationships with others so that Your name may be Glorified in my life. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.

    * For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. 2 Cor. 1:5.

    * Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 2 Cor. 1:6.

That knowledge allows me to place my broken pieces in His nail-scarred hands with peace and confidence, even through scalding heart-wrung tears.

Lord Jesus, I give you my scars and my tears. I give you my heart which has been broken again and again. I give you my longings and dreams which have never been fulfilled. Dear Jesus, I know that only in your hands can my brokenness be changed into blessing. In my hands, Lord Jesus, it only leads to deepest despair. I thank you, Lord, for being broken for me. I thank you that you loved me so deeply you were willing to suffer such pain and agony so that you could save me and make me whole again. I thank you that I can trust my broken pieces to such unfathomable love. Oh, Lord Jesus, how I do thank and praise you with all of my heart for this! Amen.

    Two Promises to Claim

Promise #1: No matter who rejects you, God is there for you
    •  Isaiah 49:14-15 “…Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.”
    •  Psalms 27:10 “When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the LORD will take care of me”

Promise #2: God Will Write the Last Chapter
    •  Psalms 31:19-20 “Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!  You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues.”

Almighty and everlasting Lord, I come before you now in great need of your mercy. You are the doctor and physician of my soul. I humbly beseech thee to send forth your healing power into every area of my inner-woundedness. I surrender to you all areas of unforgiveness, especially those hurtful past events where anger and bitterness have been allowed to fester, causing harm to my physical health.

I ask for your grace to forgive every person in my past who has ever hurt me. I forgive my father and ask to be set free from all forms of mental, emotional and psychological ailments. I forgive my brothers for their sibling rivalry, selfishness and divisiveness that have caused strife within our family. I forgive my friends, coworkers and neighbors for all their harmful actions and the unkind words they have spoken against me.

I forgive my children and all my extended family members, and I ask for your loving grace to heal all the circumstances where I failed to receive the love, affection, support and respect that I needed. I forgive myself for my past mistakes and failures, and I ask to be set free from all destructive consequences, guilt, shame and self-condemnation.

I forgive all those in positions of authority who have treated me unjustly. I forgive my greatest enemies and those who I have vowed that I would never forgive. I break those vows right now by the power of your name Lord Jesus.

By an act of my free will, I choose to forgive everybody, including the person who hurt me the most. I release my desire to receive an apology, my need to be justified in my actions and my need for others to acknowledge the injustice. I surrender the entire debt of all injuries into your merciful hands, Lord Jesus. I denounce all forms of anger, bitterness and resentment, and I command every evil spirit that has entered my body through the lack of forgiveness to leave now and go straight to the feet of my Lord, Jesus Christ.

Through the power of your Holy Spirit, I ask you Lord Jesus to fill me with your love, peace, patience, kindness, generosity and self-control. May your healing hand rest upon me now as I bless all those who have hurt me. I desire to be kind and compassionate to everyone, forgiving them just as you have forgiven me. I ask for the healing power of your love to flow through every cell of my body and into the lives of those whom I have forgiven. Amen.

” I’m a diamond ‘growing’ through some uncomfortable changes right now. The fiery process will burn away things, people, habits and beliefs I no longer need to hold on to. The polishing will make me shine with wisdom, faith, courage, peace and victory over my circumstances.

In spite of the pain from the cutting of the diamond within me, I will get better not bitter because something great is about to happen in my life. I will stay in the Light…because I am precious in God’s sight.”

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise you for Your love and friendship. Truly, You are the friend that sticks closer than a brother.  You are always there for me. Forgive me when I do not love others like You love me. Fill me with Your love so that I can be a loving, kind and faithful friend.  Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I will always be a blessing—showing hospitality and generosity toward all. Help me to always remember the suffering saints and to give aid to those who minister in the body of Christ regardless of their denomination.  Equip me to give comfort and aid to those who have been mistreated and injured.  I thank You for all the wonderful friends You have given me.  Bless each of them today I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Father, there are many promises made by well meaning individuals but circumstances change, people change and many of them fall by the wayside. There are also those who make the pretense of a promise never fully intending to keep it. Their motive is not pure and is self-serving.  Help us, as the redeemed, to be people who are trustworthy and not to make a promise that we cannot keep.  We are assured that your promises are trustworthy because of that which has already come to pass. We continue to wait for many other promises in the Bible to be fulfilled on the appointed day that You have ordained.  Proverbs assures us that “You keep every promise You make.  You are like a shield to all who seek Your protection.”  What a reassuring truth we, as Your children, can hold onto this day and each day.  We give You thanks through Jesus our Lord.  Amen.
