    SHARING. .

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” – 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Do you feel like you’re hard-pressed on every side? Maybe you’re perplexed. You may even feel forsaken or struck down.

If you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place but know today that there is a rock that is higher than you and I. And this “Rock” can bear all things!

This is no ordinary rock. This is not a rock that causes harm, hurt or pressure. This is not the kind of rock that will weigh you down. No, this rock is the solid rock.

God’s Word uses a metaphor that refers to Jesus as the solid rock- a sure foundation. No matter what storms come, no matter how hard the winds blow, if you build your house on the solid rock it won’t collapse. It won’t crumble. This sure foundation is the best “home owner’s” insurance you can ever have.

It’s easy to think: why did I get that bad break? Why did that person hurt me? Why can’t I break this bad addiction? As a result you might crumble. You might get soured on life. It might seem like you’re hard-pressed, forsaken and struck down. But you’re not in despair. The solid rock is waiting in the wings to shield you in times of trouble.

When you build your foundation on Christ, the Solid Rock, you can stand up to your challenges. You can bear any storm, disappointment, or bad break.  You can conquer bad habits, you can get out of debt, your relationships can be restored.

When the rain waters of life come, don’t build your foundation on the sand. No, build your foundation on the Solid Rock. Like the scripture says, you may be hard-pressed but you’re not crushed. You may get knock down but not knocked out. You might even bend but you won’t break.

Dig your heels in, stand tall. Put your shoulders back. You’re an overcomer. Build your house on a solid foundation today and watch the Lord strengthen you in every area of your life.

    Blessings!

    You Are There!

Where can I go? If I try to hide YOU are THERE. If I flee away or hide in my sin, YOU are THERE. Darkness cannot hide me, if I soar on the wings of eagles you are there, if I stand before kings you are there, if I sleep you watch over me, and when I wake you still are there. You are alive. Not just a figment of my imagination, not a whisper or a breath, but a real God who really is there. A risen incarnate divine eternal creator truly lives and loves me. I praise you; I honor you, for you are my God. I choose you Lord; I desire to serve you all of my days and to seek what you seek. You have opened my eyes to see and my ears to hear. You are a God of grace and presence. You are there. No amount of stubborn will can keep me away from your compassionate arms of love. My sins hide your face, but you are still there. My flesh keeps me from seeing you Lord, but you are still there, Because you love me, I will choose to flee from the flesh that keeps me bound to this world. Lift me above into the heavenlies and show me the things that you want to reveal to me. You have drawn me to yourself and I am yours. Save me from the depth of evil that invades me and let me feel your loving arms enfolding me in your love. Let me walk away from those things that keep me from believing. Cast away the doubts and fears. Preserve me to worship You Lord. To return love for love, compassion for compassion, grace for grace, mercy for mercy. Your love has drawn me and your love shelters me and keeps me from falling.

What can I say to this love? What can I say to this tender compassion that surrounds me? Why would I flee form you Lord, why would I doubt or fear? You are alive. YOU are THERE.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.” Romans 5:3 (NIV)

Trials are circumstances you have no control over, and everyone has them throughout their lifetime. Actually trials have come so your faith may be proved genuine. (1Peter1: 7) They are circumstances that happen which affect you and those around you either for good or bad; I have come to the conclusion that we move from one character building trial to the next.
As hard as it is, we must stand and resist attacks that are attempting to break us down and steal our joy. Will you give the enemy ground by believing his lies, will you let self-pity take over, or will you believe the Word? Be doers of the Word not hearers only. Stand in faith and do not be overcome with doubt and fear.

When arrows are flying from every direction around you, it is very difficult and humanly impossible to stand. Fear, sadness, despair, hopelessness, pain, grief, and a host of other evil spirits will try to destroy you. At times I would cry out to God saying, “Where else can I go? Where else Lord?” I swallowed Christ hook line and sinker and there is no one else who can help me. “If you Lord are not on my side, than who? I must hold on, I must hold on, help me Lord to hold on.” In my anguish Christ’s words connected with my soul, “My God my God, why have your forsaken me?” Jesus can identify with being alone in the hour of His greatest travail. Our cross will never be as heavy. You can endure God is faithful.

An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. Luke 22: 43-45

    Desperate

Life is hard and at times our world seem to be whirling out of control. Each day brings another hurdle. During this particularly hard season in my life, I anguished to what seemed to no avail. If it had not been for the strength of the Holy Spirit, I would not have survived. My personal agony was at time more than I could bear. Second by second I would find myself praying for a little more strength and for my cup to be lifted. Jesus too, asked for His cup to be lifted but yielded to His Father.

When these seasons come, know, you are not alone, God will see you through but only by clinging to Him. Things may get worse before they get better; Jesus had to endure the cross. If you are battling pain, cancer, old age, rebellious kids or any of real life challenges; you are in company with Jesus.

Ps 34:18-19 ?The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them ALL.? The 23rd Psalm promises that even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you should not fear evil, for God is with you. Every one of us will have seasons of great afflictions but God promises He will be with us; you must hold on to that. When a hailstorm is pounding hard outside, as long as you remain inside you will be protected.

The word says lean not on your own understanding, my ways are not your ways. Surrendering and yielding, while in affliction, to God?s authority crucifies our flesh and allows God?s wisdom and purposes to be accomplished. I once heard a pastor say, ?God is not as concerned with our circumstances as He is our character.?

I often think of Jesus hanging on His cross with the sins of the world baring down upon Him, but then my sins are added to His load, making His pain all the more. It makes me cry to think it was because of my sinfulness He was afflicted but then, that same cross brings me encouragement because if He endured, so can I. Yielding to Him is the very least I can do.

Jesus brings me through the pain and the suffering so that He can show me the hope and the promise that only HE can guarantee.

“Behold, I come quickly. My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David; the Bright and Morning Star.” (Revelation 22:12-16)

If this is a day of pain and suffering for you – take heart! Jesus has (it’s done!) overcome this world so grab on to that true promise! If you know someone who is suffering, then be that disciple, that ambassador, of Jesus and walk out His promises to encourage and point your loved one toward the hope that is Jesus.

    I Love You, My Child

    I love you, my child.
There is nothing that you can do
that can separate me away from you.
    You are here always,
within my strong and loving embrace.
    You are protected,
    You are loved.
    I delight in you,
and see my own eyes upon your eyes.
    I take away your fears.
    I take away your tears.
From now on you are safe,
and you are where you’ve always longed to be.
Let the people who judged you
see how I cherish you now,
    Let those who condemn you
see how close you are to me.
You are never outside of my love,
    never an outcast,
    never a failure,
    never so far away.
    You need not do anything
    to please me,
    for I am already pleased
    that you trust me,
    to guide you in everything
    you wanted to do.
    You are beautiful,
    you are whole,
    you are healed,
    you are my beloved,
you can rest upon my strong shoulders,
and trust that you won’t ever slip away,
    for it is I
who is holding on firmly to you

PSALM 27:10 - WHEN MY FATHER AND MY MOTHER FORSAKE ME, THEN THE LORD WILL TAKE ME UP.

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. Oh what great words of Comfort our Father speaks to His children in the earth this morning. God promises that even if our earthly mother and father forsake us, He (God) will never forsake us. Other people will leave us and forsake you for various reasons, but God never will.

This promise from God to His people on this morning is one that is not only constant, but it is guaranteed in every situation in our life. We walk by faith and not by sight.
What do we have to do to keep this promise? NOTHING! God’s promise to never leave or forsake us is not conditional on anything we do.

PERHAPS YOU WOKE UP THIS MORNING FEELING ABANDONED, REJECTED OR FORSAKEN DUE TO THE CHANGE OF SEASONS IN YOUR LIFE; MOMENTS OF UNCERTAINTIES, TRAGEDIES, ETC. MAYBE YOU HAVE BEEN FORSAKEN BY A SPOUSE, A CHILD, A PARENT, A FAMILY MEMBER, A FRIEND, A COWORKER OR EVEN A CHURCH BROTHER OR SISTER. REGARDLESS OF WHO HAS FORSAKEN YOU, GOD’S WORD DECLARES THAT HE (GOD) HAS NOT FORSAKEN YOU. REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU MAY FEEL THIS MORNING IN REGARDS TO BEING FORSAKEN, GOD’S WORD DECLARES THAT YOU ARE NOT FORSAKEN!!!!!!!!!!

I am sure, whether spoken or unspoken the question as to whether or not God has forsaken you still lingers in your mind. The reason probably being is the fact that you have shifted your focus from God’s promises in His Word, to what you see with your natural eyes or what the enemy may be speaking to your mind. THESE FEELINGS MAY HAVE YOU ASKING - WHAT WILL I DO NOW? WHERE DO I GO? WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? WHO WILL LOVE, NURTURE, AND GUIDE ME? WHO STANDS ON MY SIDE? WHAT WILL BECOME OF ME?

These are the questions, I imagine that are running through the minds of many people during those times when they feel forsaken or abandoned. Regardless of what you feel, God is saying to you on today, “FEAR NOT!” I will never leave nor forsake you! TRUST ME!!! Proverbs 3:5-6- Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

This promise of God is of no benefit to any of us if we do not believe it. Matthew 9:29b - Be it unto you according to your faith.

God’s Word declares - As He was with the apostles He will be with you. 2 Timothy 4:6-8.

“I will not leave you nor forsake you.” That is the promise on today from God to you! Do you believe it? Regardless of the circumstances of our lives, storms, death, separation, we have never been and will never be forsaken by God.

(Exodus 32-please read during your spare time) - God promises Moses in his time of fear and anxiety; “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” It looks like God saw through what Moses’ real issue was and responded to that. God promises to go with Moses every step of the way. “You will never be alone, Moses, you can rely on that. I will always be with you.”

This is a promise that God has made to Moses and makes to you and me. “You are not alone! I will always be with you, and I will give you rest.”

GOD BLESS AND DO TELL THE LORD THANK YOU THAT HE PROMISES TO NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.

    Psalm 37:24
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

Yes, I was falling, but I was not falling into nothingness. The hand of the Lord was holding me and assuring that I would fall no lower than he would allow.

That’s the beginning of my recovery.

    When the darkness overcomes . . . .

I’m certain we all have childhood memories of being afraid of the dark, of being left alone in the darkness. And when that darkness oppressed us, overcame us, what appeared to save us, to rescue us from our fear? Usually our parents, or an older friend or sibling, or simply a light shining - a light we could focus on and move towards. Always the light appeared to represent safety and refuge.

And although as we grow older our minds become more rational and we are able to ask ourselves “What are we afraid of? The darkness itself? Surely the darkness cannot harm us?”, we nevertheless, even as adults, sometimes find ourselves once again plagued by an irrational fear of the dark, or, using darkness as a metaphor, perhaps a fear of the unknown.

This is the time when we need once again to search for the light, for the outstretched hand of our Father. Always God’s light will shine through our darkest times, always God’s hand is stretched out to comfort and hold us. We only need to look for it. Remember that God’s light will never fade, and will always be visible if you seek it. And God’s hand will always be outstretched, ready to hold you, no matter how dark your night might seem.

So if you are experiencing a particularly dark period in your life, if you are feeling fear in the blackness of your concerns and worries, look around you for God’s light, focus on it and move towards it. Reach out and let God take your hand to guide you through the night.

I pray that you will see God’s welcoming light shining through your darkness today.

    Blessings, Faith & Hope

God is in charge, and everything is as it should be.

Sometimes, in this chaotic and busy world, it is difficult to remember that God is in control and that all is happening is according to His will.  And especially in our own difficulties it may be hard to understand the will of God, hard to understand or interpret what God has planned for us.  Nevertheless, we must be humble before Him, and submit to His path, whatever that may be.  Whatever burdens you are carrying, be sure not to try carrying them on your own.  Kneel before God and ask that He will take them from you, have faith, and you may be sure that it will be done.

    God bless you.

God will lift your troubles from you

There is an old adage, “a problem shared is a problem halved”, meaning that by asking for help, or sharing a problem with someone else, the burden is lightened. With God, though, the adage is more like “a problem shared is a problem SOLVED”, because if you care to humble yourself and ask God, He will take your burdens upon Himself. Sometimes in our fear and worry we fail to remember that God can carry our troubles.  All our fears and trials can be lifted from our shoulders, all the darkness can be taken from our hearts. All it takes is for you to ask, and it will be done.  Remember that even Jesus, born as a perfect man, asked God his father for help when he needed it, and like Jesus, we would do well to know that to kneel in prayer before God is the answer.

Take your troubles and concerns to God, and let Him carry them for you.  He has promised to do that.

I pray that your burdens are lifted from you today.

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indians rite of passage?

It is told that the father of the young man takes his son into the woods, where he blindfolds him and leaves him all alone.  The initiate is then required to sit alone on a stump the whole night,  not removing the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it.  He may not cry out for help to anyone.  Once he has survived the night, he is regarded as a man, his rite of passage complete.

He cannot tell the other boys of his experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own, in his own way, with his own inner strength.  The boy is naturally terrified, sitting on that stump.  He can hear all kinds of noises.  Wild beasts must surely be all around him.  Maybe even some human might wish to do him harm. The wind blows the grass and earth and shakes his stump, but he sits stoically, never removing the blindfold. It is the only way he can become a man!

Finally, after an awful night the sun appears and he removes his blindfold.  It is only then that he discovers his father sitting on the stump next to him.  He has been silently at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.

And so it is with us. We, too, are never alone. Even when we don’t know it, God is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us.  When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him and we can be comforted in our fear and worry, safe in the knowledge that God is protecting and watching out for us.

Remember always, just because you can’t see God it doesn’t mean He is not there, for we walk by faith, not by sight.

May God bless and be with you today and forever.

God’s word promises that when we feel that fear, we only need to remember that He is the one who will be with us through it all, he is the one who will not leave us or forsake us.  That is God’s promise.

So if you are facing what seems to be an insurmountable challenge that is making you afraid, remember that you are still a child to God your father.  Speak to him, say “Please, God, come in with me?”

And be assured, He will.  Always.

I pray that God will give you peace today
